The only reason, on my opinion, is that the Motorcraft filter has its bypass on the base of the filter whereas the Boss (and every other filter I've seen) have it in the dome end. Thus if it *did* end up in a bypass condition the Motorcraft might be less likely to flow old sediment sitting down...

Oh I'm glad you reminded me about this thread. I recently changed oil and replaced the PBL30001 with the Fram Endurance equivalent, the FE8A. The fram endurance has the same bypass pressure range as the OEM filter.

This is what I did. Oil at 500. Then RDU, PTU, Transmission, and motor oil at 5000. Just clearing out the break in metals. RDU and PTU were both underfilled from the factory.

Simple explanation: somebody wrote the wrong thing on your vehicle. That is the wrong volume. You'll need to drain and redo it.

I replaced my factory skid plate with the one from Rival. My factory plate is free, in 92612 or 92315. I don't think it's worth shipping. Keep in mind that the Tremor is different than the other mavericks. It won't fit on a non-Tremor afaik
