  1. Maverick vs Hyundai Santa Cruz

Agreed. I'd rather just a flat surface. Would be super simple to put the seats up and have some functional in-cab storage or space for my dog.
  2. Base Maverick XL trim spotted again

It looks like the driver is a woman, so statistically speaking she's likely to be a shorter person. As others have said, safety standards have driven designs to higher belt lines. Metal absorbs impacts better than glass.
  3. Ford Maverick Pricing Will Start Under $20,000 MSRP

There isn't a definitive answer yet. Some expect the base/fleet model to start at $20K. There are a couple of approaches to estimate the various trim levels. Most common are to match the trims in the Escape or Bronco Sport, since the Maverick will share the same platform as these vehicles. The...
  4. Ford Maverick Pricing Will Start Under $20,000 MSRP

Agreed with everything here. If you look at the F-150 and Ranger, the F-150 starts at ~$29K and the Ranger starts at ~$25K (a bit of rounding here). Sub $20K would be a great starting point for Maverick, but I agree it seems difficult to achieve. Perhaps I'm a bit pessimistic, but $21-22K seems...
  5. Features : Need/Want/Don't

I'm with you a lot of those comforts. I have a commute into work and I want a comfortable drive during the week, and some functional utility on the weekend. There's plenty of people on here who want barebones and don't want to pay for anything else. That's fine, that's great! I think they'll...
  6. Ford Maverick Full Uncovered Look @ Side & Rear 3/4 in Area 51 color!

Interesting that the Santa Cruz has some pretty revealing "leaks" the day after the Maverick is caught testing. I hope competition between these two keeps prices (in particular any attempt at dealer markups) in check. Edit: I'll have to eat my words on this one. The video on youtube was posted...
  7. Features : Need/Want/Don't

I'm starting to rethink my approach of estimating price based on subtracting from the Ranger. If I use the Escape as a basis, $11k gets you the Titanium trim...basically fully loaded. If the same is true on the Maverick, that would mean it would top out at ~$32K (D/D included).
  8. Features : Need/Want/Don't

I took a comparably equipped Ranger and subtracted ~$8k. SuperCrew 4x4 XLT starts at $36.5k w/ destination Heated seats/wheel requires 302A package, adds $2.5k Blackout package adds $1k Tech package adds $1k MSRP + destination = $41K I figure about a $4-5k (hope for $6k) price difference...
  9. Ford Maverick Full Uncovered Look @ Side & Rear 3/4 in Area 51 color!

This is probably the best shot yet. Side profile looks great. Hopefully the features and the price are equally attractive.
  10. Features : Need/Want/Don't

Need: CarPlay, Heated Seats/Wheel, Automatic Climate Control, <$35k OTD Want: Co-Pilot 360 (Hands-free driving, like in the new F-150), Remote Start, Power-fold mirrors, Blackout Package, <$33K OTD Don't: Leather, Moon/Sunroof, Brand name sound system, "off-road equipment", "Built-In...
  11. Ordering a Maverick...

I'm not certain. I do know that Ford made the Bronco ineligible for X-Plan pricing as @Spartan_J mentioned. As far as I know A-plan is still accepted for the Bronco. It would stand to reason that A-plan would likely be available for the Maverick as well. But, obviously, I have no source or...
  12. Ordering a Maverick...

There are a couple of recent examples of what you describe. The Bronco is probably one most people here are familiar with. The Kia Telluride is another pretty hot commodity, and most are sold around MSRP from what a friend tells me. Then there's also the newest Corvette. Basically two years...
