  1. Demco Flat-Tow Setup Instructions, with comparison to Blue Ox and Roadmaster

Du'oh....I've had that thing for 15 or 20 years and towed a Honda all over the country with it inside. I never had to adjust the handle up! It will work fine.
  2. Demco Flat-Tow Setup Instructions, with comparison to Blue Ox and Roadmaster

Mine has a digital readout but is basically the same. I'll recheck on that adjustment knob.

Didn't you say that you have a Brake Buddy Classic? If so, how do you brace it in front of the seat? Mine seems like it will work but a fourth of the unit is under the seat. I've been testing and it seems that the lowest setting for mine is 4. Anything less and it does not hardly move the piston.
  4. Demco Flat-Tow Setup Instructions, with comparison to Blue Ox and Roadmaster

I finally completed my install. The 6 pin mount took some head scratching and wall staring but I figured out a good one...I hope. I used the huge bracket from Demco as a mounting plate for the much smaller bracket and "voila!" I have a front facing mount. Self tapping screws and bolts through...
  5. Demco Flat-Tow Setup Instructions, with comparison to Blue Ox and Roadmaster

Thanks for the response. It looks good but I didn't want to attach anything to the fascia.
  6. Demco Flat-Tow Setup Instructions, with comparison to Blue Ox and Roadmaster

Rob can you tell me how you mounted the bracket for the 6 pin? I like the way yours looks.
  7. Demco Flat-Tow Setup Instructions, with comparison to Blue Ox and Roadmaster

Wow Brad! I mounted my after market breakaway on the bar with a self tapping screw. I can't fit well under the truck, even if I jack up one side. You must be skinnier than this fat boy. I WILL get the wire ran though. I may try something new on mounting the plug. Thanks for the quick response!
  8. Demco Flat-Tow Setup Instructions, with comparison to Blue Ox and Roadmaster

I finally got the chance to start on my Demco install yesterday. I removed the fascia and installed the plate successfully(with lots of help from your extra instructions). I found a way to mount the breakaway and ran the leads for same along with a fused 12v power supply for the Brake Buddy. I...
  9. Neutral tow mode - HELP!

When you ran your accessories outlet, what did you use for ground(negative)? The jump post is not threaded and I want a clean connect for mine.
  10. Brake Buddy 12v Power

We are getting dirrerent information. When I talked to the Hopkins people on Thursday, I was told to just set the force to the lowest number. That made sense to me because the Brake Buddy only presses the pedal. With correct force applied I can't see that Brake Buddy wouldn't work with any system.
  11. Brake Buddy 12v Power

How did you mount/place the 12v outlet under or around the dash area?
  12. How do you set up a brake buddy for your hybrid.

Sorry....I have all my equipment: tow plate, wiring and diodes for tail lights, charge wiring and fuses, etc all laid out in my garage waiting for a truck to install them on. It was out of build and "shipped" on 3/9. If you want to see some pics, check into BradnChristine. He will give...
  13. How do you set up a brake buddy for your hybrid.

I've been wondering this as well. Are the brakes still powered up when the truck is in neutral tow mode? If so, at what level would you set the pressure on the Brake Buddy? P.S. I talked to the guy at Brake Buddy and he said to set the pressure at the lowest you can(5 to 10 lbs).
  14. Demco Flat-Tow Setup Instructions, with comparison to Blue Ox and Roadmaster

Thanks again Brad! Since I diode and fuse the charge wire I may forego the mini charger. I'm still mulling over the portable power supply. If I have one....count 'em....ONE deep sleep problem, an AGM will be installed.
  15. Demco Flat-Tow Setup Instructions, with comparison to Blue Ox and Roadmaster

Thanks Brad! I've picked up a lot from you so far. The code reader will be awaiting the Mav with the other stuff. Since I'm running a trickle wire to the battery (as I have long used for the Honda), I think my 12v plug may suffice. Thanks again and I will NOT hesitate to ask for advice and help!
  16. Demco Flat-Tow Setup Instructions, with comparison to Blue Ox and Roadmaster

All my stuff is laid out on the garage floor. Demco plate, wiring with diodes, wiring for 12v piug for Brake Buddy, breakaway switch and associated wire, a tailgate piston, and a tonneau. Now If I just had a Maverick to put everything on........
  17. Has anyone installed the DEMCO Baseplate on a 2024 yet?

The Demco folks told me last week that getting one from them may take several weeks. Since my “build” is supposed to be this week, I ordered one. I hope the Mav and the plate arrive around the same time. P.S. Where are the “fingers crossed" emojis?
  18. 📒 Maverick Build Process Guide! - Window Sticker, Blend Date, Production Rotation Number, Built & Shipped Emails, Delivery Date Estimates & More

I have two window stickers. One has some updates to change from convoy to rail and GA location. There is still no blend date. Will this be added?
  19. Brake Buddy 12v Power

Thanks for the answer Terry. This adds something that I wasn't expecting. I have had a fused charge wire from my Motorhome for quite sometime. I have towed a Honda Accord for about 90k miles without pulling a fuse and no dead battery as well. I also wired a diode to the Accord line (paranoid...
