  1. Buschur's Maverick 2.0 oil separators DONE!

Didn't know that about trailers. I'll have to do some fuel usage calculations then and see if it costs less to run the trailer under load i.e. cost of the tank of gas of 93 vs MPG difference between 87 and 93 for typical driving I do. For the average truck user I don't think this is an issue but...
  2. Buschur's Maverick 2.0 oil separators DONE!

I probably will do that at some point since I already have the 4k tow package and if I can squeeze more capacity that way it makes sense for me to do so. I run a 6 x 14 trailer 3500 LB single axle and if I can increase that load limit in a it will save money if hauling enough materials because...
  3. XL or XLT

On the cruise control as already mentioned you can get it working after and be same as would have been built in the factory on an XLT or higher trims models right now for about $200 in switches and and forscan cable / license or replace the wheel out completely with one on a similarly equiped...
  4. Buschur's Maverick 2.0 oil separators DONE!

Alright so the best course of action if one plans to keep the truck long term besides adding the catch can is to some point in the maintance work add in having the intercooler removed and cleaned or replaced say like at 50k or 100k ?
  5. Buschur's Maverick 2.0 oil separators DONE!

Maybe someone can answer my question. I get that these filter out oil into the turbo but if it is already is coated, how does the existing buildup get removed assuming you put the can in and no more oil is getting into the turbo? Does it burn itself up over time or do you need to add some sort...
  6. Factory cruise control enabled on XL with Forscan and Escape steering wheel

To add to this checking the owners manual starting at page 190 is the fuse box locations. if you are trying replicate the factory wiring you'll need to wire the ACC through the fuse box in the hood fuse box specifically fuse #21 which is rated for 5 amps. Might also want to spend a few bucks...
  7. Factory cruise control enabled on XL with Forscan and Escape steering wheel

Looks like you'll need the following switches for adaptive cruise control besides the radar sensor. https://parts.ford.com/shop/en/us/electrical/switches/cruise-control-switch-13094681-1 LH Switch part# SW8585 RH Switch Part# SW8576 The left hand switch is currently out of stock there but...
  8. Oil change schedule / interval? Synthetic oil?

Also besides using the app, setting a scheduling alarm it in cluster works as a reminder as long as you know how miles you want to go between changes. It all depends how engaged you want to be in the maintenance process. Some people are more fastidious than others. On your Escape what engine...
  9. Oil change schedule / interval? Synthetic oil?

Anyways I did some looking and the hybrid is indeed a direct injection so all that info is valid for the hybrid 2.5L engine. The only logical assumption I'd say is that it will take longer for the sludge issues in the valves to rear their ugly head since you won't be using the gas portion as...
  10. Oil change schedule / interval? Synthetic oil?

I forgot to mention and will edit the post the engine oil suggestion I was using is for 2.0L ecoboost engines not the hybrid. I don't know what nuances need to be taken into consideration for those when considering engine oil besides what weight oil is recommended in the book.
  11. Easy oil change with skid plate

Give it time, the aftermarket community will eventually make replacement skid plates with a service panel on them or something similar.
  12. Oil change schedule / interval? Synthetic oil?

This applies to a 2.0L ecoboost engine, hybrids maybe a different conclusion. So I did some researching on what oil to use and my conclusion is unless it is a climate issue is stick with a 5W-30 oil. Specifically the Walmart full synthetic Super Tech oil. That is the short answer. Long answer...
  13. Leak proof tonneau for the best price?

I have a Truxedo Truxport cover. Spent $309 before tax for it. If I had done the weather seal strip correctly on the back it would have been completely leak proof. I was getting a few drips when I had a lot of water build up but have since remedied the problem adding a bead of caulk to the...
  14. Factory cruise control enabled on XL with Forscan and Escape steering wheel

What beta version of forscan did you use to do the programming? I ordered all the parts and forscan cable and am just waiting on everything to arrive. Great job in getting it working.
  15. Factory cruise control enabled on XL with Forscan and Escape steering wheel

On the heated seats further research says you'll need to replace the climate control button unit on the dash with one in an XLT with a single zone and heated seat buttons. The plastic shroud snaps out easily and you just need to unbolt and put the the one with the heated seats button in. What I...
  16. Factory cruise control enabled on XL with Forscan and Escape steering wheel

Looked under my seat and the short answer is probably not unless they put the heating elements in the seat and hid the wires. With that said if they didn't, you can buy and install the elements and get the correcting wiring kit for them. That or cannibalize the wiring harness and possibly the...
  17. Are there bed storage cubbies on the XL hybrid? Covered by drop-in bedliner

They don't but you can order them as a seperate part and put them in afterwards. Only issue is every dealer I've asked says they either can't get them right now or they are on back order. Supposedly sometime in Feb. or Mar. is the earliest the dealers I talked to says they can get these items ...
  18. 5000+ miles, so how is it? 2.0 Maverick owners review

Here is my DIY lined bed. Cost me $59 for the horsestall mat and fasteners before tax. Tools used, box cutter, contour gage, marker, drill bit, drill and mallet.
  19. 5000+ miles, so how is it? 2.0 Maverick owners review

One thing to also consider is how cold it is where you are when you drive. I've noticed that my MPG drops when starting to get down near freezing. I have an AWD not FWD so maybe that has something to do with the gas mileage difference?
