    Ford Protect Extended Service Plans

Good points, it is risk tolerance and maintaining strict discipline. While I typically maintain comprehensive as it is relativity cheap, and even collision when the vehicle's value constitutes a catastrophic loss, there is a time when it doesn't make sense. As for accidents, knock on wood...

    Ford Protect Extended Service Plans

I wasn't going to self-disclose this much, but your post inspired me. It sounds like we're on the same page. Many years back, I sold a motorcycle (approximately $4500) and segregated that money into a "vehicle/hobby fund" to pay for repairs, and serve as a down-payment for the next vehicle. I...

What are you going to put in your "shrine" Cubby (space next display screen)?

Great idea, maybe someone will 3D print an insert to hold a Multi-tool (e.g. Leatherman) and a compact flashlight.

    Ford Protect Extended Service Plans

Or c.), Pay enough down as to not require gap insurance, and forgo the extended warranty. Assuming some of the risk and investing it properly will pay off in spades over a lifetime of vehicle purchases. Especially with the hybrid's MZR-based engine. I had one in a Ford that went 300K without...

Would you pay for future upgrade to a 12"+ Sync 4/(5?) system?

I personally don't need the arcade sized screen either, I might have preferred the dash look like it were designed for the installed screen, but it will be alright. I do like the upgraded audio that the B&O will hopefully provide, but since I keep my vehicles for a long while, an upgrade here...

Would you pay for future upgrade to a 12"+ Sync 4/(5?) system?

You are correct, but while we wait, I thought it wouldn't hurt to have the discussion to see how much interest is generated. This team that developed the Maverick seems to value modularity. But if not Ford, maybe the aftermarket will respond. Have you seen what Alpine has done with their...

Would you pay for future upgrade to a 12"+ Sync 4/(5?) system?

If Ford offered an upgrade a year or two in the future to upgrade the Sync 3 system to a 12"+ Sync 4/(5?) system that would eliminate the "ugly cubby", offer the latest technology and possibly an audio upgrade, would anyone bite or would you feel cheated from not having it from the get-go? I...

What are you going to put in your "shrine" Cubby (space next display screen)?

I'm thinking a custom switch panel for 007 features, as in Bond, James Bond. Alternate License Plate Selection, Rocket Launchers, Ejection Seat, Amphibious/Submarine Mode etc.

    EcoBoost Maverick, really ?

The 4-cylinder Colorado can get 30ish (manual).

Timing belt or chain in Maverick hybrid engine?

Unless something has changed, the MZR-based engines have chains.

    Will pricing change?

Right. Ford should have contractual clauses for the parts required to build out what they've sold. That said, there will likely be increases when those are renegotiated.

    Age of targeted Maverick Buyer

    56. Buying it because it is small, agile, fun, and economical enough take long weekend drives through the mountains, yet practical enough to tow a utility trailer. The design thought put into practical items like storage and utility was a strong allure. I don't need too many creature...

How big is the instrument cluster display?

Anyone else prefer the needle fuel gauge on the smaller display vs. the linear segmented line fuel gauge on the larger display?

    Unibody repair

I remember Chevrolet back in the 90's being late to the game with composite aerodynamic headlights claiming that their trucks are used on farms, ranches, and other jobsites and are subject to damage. They said customer surveys indicated owners wanted cheap and easy bulb replacement vs...

Has the date been closed for ordering the Maverick?

Not trying to be negative, I've just watched the Bronco Sport fiasco for a while. Lots of false expectation followed by frustration and in some cases, lost hope. Hopefully, Ford will shoot straight with their customer base and not just spew optimism for the stockholders.

    HOT PEPPER RED Maverick Club

I ordered my Lariat back in June in Hot Pepper Red as I always liked similar colors (e.g. 'Chevy Colorado in Red Rock Metallic). Anyhow, on my way home from work earlier, I saw a Ranger in Hot Pepper Red, shiny clean and beautifully lit, the sunshine highlighting the contours as only a...

Has the date been closed for ordering the Maverick?

Was that 100K per year, or 100K this model year?! More power to 'em if they can pull it off. The further (& existing) issues part is my concern.

Has the date been closed for ordering the Maverick?

Hopefully, that capacity won't be a low number. These are strange times.
