I hope it won't be too long. Ford says more info will be coming in 2nd quarter and we are almost there!! Sometimes they are late, sometimes they are early.
I don't deal with any of the finance stuff myself. I think rate approvals are usually good for 30 days.
Ford Credit does have some...
I don't work in parts myself....so I don't know the details. The prefix does indicate the year and model of the vehicle the product was first used for.
I did some digging online. Prior to 1999, the 1st digit was the decade and the 2nd the year, like you said. The 3rd indicated the product line...
Probably just a mistake/oversight. Sales reps are probably unlikely to check for recalls before going on test drives (and this one was fairly new). Looks like they did catch it during PDI, and at least you didn't drive off w/it after paying/signing papers?
I really doubt it was on purpose...
Yikes! They may just neglect reporting the vehicle to Ford. Or are ok risking a big fine....
Was this recent? Airbag parts can be ordered w/ signed buyers order. That certainly should have been taken care of before you drove off with it!
I don't know if you've seen the entire recall notice or not. This one is "advance notice" only. Compliance Recall 23C04
"A complete Dealer Bulletin will be provided to dealers 2nd quarter 2023 when it is anticipated that parts ordering information and repair instructions will be available to...
No that won't work. Dealer can't report sold to Ford until the recall is completed. They can get in all sorts of trouble if they let you drive off with it w/ an open safety recall.
I don't know all of the timing...but they may have checked OASIS when they did the PDI (a day or two before you...
No idea there!! I suspect that it is just from a different supplier, but essentially the same??
They both (currently) cost the exact same amount, so no savings to use one over the other.
The Ford part number for FL910S is BE8Z-6731-AC. The Ford part number for FL2123 is NU2Z-6731-EA. Same...
That filter looks ok. I work at a dealership and searched for info on FL2123. This is from a July 2022 memo to dealers:
In order to improve availability and ensure our customers are receiving high quality filters, Ford Customer Service is pleased to announce the launch of our first Original...
That would depend on the dealer.... I'm assuming the ESP plan would need to be a "used" ESP plan, and would need to have a vehicle inspection done first. Any issues are supposed to be noted during that inspection, and shouldn't be covered. There are restrictions on what a dealer can claim...
I haven't heard anything about this. I know that ordered vehicles can be associated w/ your Ford account online....but that certain vehicles like Maverick originally weren't (for some reason). My own Maverick order (June 2021) never showed up on my account.
I can't recall seeing any update...
Hmmm....I would have to run the coverage on a vehicle that had the ESP. I was using my hybrid Mav as an example, and I don't have ESP.
If anyone has a hybrid Mav w/ ESP, they can send me the VIN and I can check part coverage.
I am fairly confident that it would be covered under the Premium...
I did check Ford's part coverage tool, for the the aux heater assy (18K463). It is only covered under 3/36.
It is not on the list for "8/100 Warranty for Unique Hybrid & Electric Vehicle Components".
The $750 one was probably some "direct offer".... basically Ford marketing throws private offers are different groups of people to encourage them to buy a Ford. Some may be for current Ford customers who haven't purchased a vehicle in a few years. Some are sent to non-Ford owners to try and get...
The dealer is correct. Farm Bureau and First Responder $500 are not "compatible" with each other / "stackable". You can't use both.
It is pretty simple on the dealer's end. They can select rebates/offers in smart vincent, and Ford tells which can be "bundled" together. These two cannot.
I'm not sure if there is a normal time frame..... The biggest factor is probably how many other new/used vehicles that are trying to deliver in that same time frame, and their capacity to prep them!
Nope, no seatbelt inspection in this FSA. Part of the seatbelt does have to be detached to perform the recall...so it is possible that something was damaged & had to be replaced.
