Vety nice write up. You hit the big points most people don't think about when they replace wheels and/or tires. I am trying to find the weight of my XLT stock alloy wheels but so far not much luck. Since my tires are newish and I know their weight, I guess I can just pull 1 and weigh the wheel...
Mine came with new, longer push pins. All of the OE hardware I removed got thrown into the trash. They seem very well attached. I don't think there will be any issues with these.
I like mine. Install took less than 30 minutes, in the dark. They do a great job of keeping the dirt and grit off of the paint for the most part. They also help with my wider tires, sorry I haven't taken the time to get better pictures.
I voted other because it really depends on the truck. If I didn't have a black truck I probably would have gotten black lettering but since I have black, more black wouldn't be noticed. So I went with blue and now if I add any thing with a color I try to keep it as close as possible.
I would do a lot of Googling, weigh the options.,get some measurements for the focus subframe VS the Mavericks. And if you can't weld, now is the time to start. There are also some really good amateur fabricators on YouTube that show some really good tips and tricks.
Others have built 2.0/2.3 hybrid engines. Kinda like the old Honda LS Vtecs. They make really good power, but I haven't read through a complete build thread to see the exact amount, if any machining that has to be done.
I've kicked this idea around, and done some Google poking. If I were to attempt such an endeavor. I would find 2 wrecked vehicles and do a Focus RS subframe and complete driveline. Have the Mavericks body repaired and then have fun. It will take a lot of engineering, and it will definitely void...
Close to 25k, but apso lots of South Texas driving... so 85% or so 90 degrees+. Also recently replaced with much larger Hankooks hopefully they will last much longer.
I emailed in early December but never got a reply. I called them earlier this week but the person I needed to talk to was out of the country. Now that mine is lifted I would really like to get some protection underneath befits too late.
I am currently running 265/65R17 Hankook Extreme ATs with the Rough County 2" strut lift. Very, very minimal rubbing only at full lock, on the fender liner at the pinch weld. I could knock the rail down with a hammer and adjust the liner, but at this point I don't think it's worth it. I will be...
The Explorer ST does get the most powerful engine offered... it just shares that engine with the King Ranch, and Platinum.
Also the Edge ST gets the 2.7 EB, which is much more powerful than the others.
Fords ST Line, vehicles are just base to mid-grade vehicles that they put some lipstick on. I...
