YouTube video for those impatiently waiting on their Maverick. No its not a Hollywood-level production, but it hits the cords of many folks still waiting (I just got mine of 3/4/23).
EDIT: Just to clarify. I didn't make this video, just found it on YouTube. All kudos to the creator...
My Hybrid Lariat with Lux pkg/CP360/CP360Assist and block heater, etc has arrived at the dealership. Of course that's after waiting for over 16 months for my 2022 order to roll over to MY2023. Picking it up Saturday after a snow storm here on Friday.
Just some stats on my build/transpo time...
The accolades just keep on coming. I saw this in the C&D magazine I recently got, and located an online article with video (linked).
While every once in awhile these professional reviewers get things wrong (like the 1983 Renault Alliance), but they've been very complementary on the Maverick...
For the second year in a row they named the Maverick the best in the compact truck category. This follows the 2022 Maverick winning the category last year also.
The video lists both winning SUVs and Trucks. The Maverick coverage begins at approx the 3min mark in video.
Just happened to see this article on Car&Driver website. Looks like this manufacturer has a tight relationship with Toyota but they do offer covers for Honda Elements and Accords, so they aren't a captive manufacturer. Just thought folks would like to see whats becoming available in the...
Linked is to an 8/22 Car& Driver article that discusses the 2023 Santa Cruz. I know some folks have been considering a SC as well as the Mav.
Prices increases are similar to what Ford did with the Maverick mid-summer, except the top-end Limited trim's increase is smaller. What we don't know...
I placed this in the Hybrid sub-section of the MTC forums as I'm trying to avoid another Hybrid vs Ecoboost pissing-match thread. This thread is directed toward those that already feel the gas/battery powertrain is the better choice for their normal driving circumstances. And its meant to be...
I've read some posts about Hybrids not getting expected fuel economy. While cold weather and winter fuel blends negatively affect MPG, it seems learning how to effectively use the Hybrid system and regenerative braking are key in improving overall efficiency.
This detailed video explains how...
Saw this segment on MotorWeek and thought of a few MTC members needing to replace their cracked windshield, etc. I do NOT know if the Mavericks camera(s) will need to be re-calibrated but thought I'd post just in case. And many folks have other vehicles that have high-tech features like...
I'm still hoping to get my 2022 Hybrid. But my question is: if some 2022 orders don't get filled prior to 2023MY transition, will we be price-protected on a 2023 version's inevitable MSRP increase? (I doubt it but just pondering...)
EDIT: I think there's been as similar producion issue with...
Maybe this is old news but twice in past week I noticed a member that has the name: Ford Motor Company. I searched to see if there was a thread on this but didn't see one in the first few pages of the website search so I figured if it was mentionted, it was awhile ago.
Your can see an example...
Thought those of you still waiting for your EcoBoost with FX4/Tow packages would enjoy this video. The OPs are from rural Canada, so they deal with more inclement weather than many of us in US. They show loading an ATV, hauling 500lbs, and tow a 4k trailer. And I found their MPGs while towing...
Came across this article while surfin' the internet. While many of us remember the car-based Maverick of the 1970s, Ford also used the Maverick nameplate elsewhere in the world from 1988 thru 1990s. And they were SUVs!
Seems Ford used "badge-engineering" on two generations of Nissan SUVs that...
The guy seems to have a fairly good understanding of the Hybrid drivetrain and highlights some interesting points. Also points out unique components in the engine bay.
Sounds like he's a dealer tech, and I laughed when he explains the special ⚡pole midway the video (ie open or closed casket )...
Just read this 12/21 review. Maybe of interest to you if you live/work in urban settings.
They drove around Chicagoland, discuss maneuverability and parking, MPGs in mid-30s weather, etc.
I found it interesting as the review somewhat mimics my normal vehicle usage and thought it maybe of...
Say it isn't so!
Sadly the high-price Rivian was chosen by MotorTrend. While these awards are nice to see, it does not predict how well a particular vehicle does in the marketplace, or how long-term their reliability is, etc. See this attached article for more.
I read many years ago that...
Was surfing YouTube and came across this recent video. I don't have a Maverick yet so I'm not having problems with the radio (duh).
But in the video this guy goes through the steps to check for updates, and claims he was able to update the radio's firmware.
Hope this helps you folks that are...
I've always thought of Forbes being more of a financial/business magazine/website, but I guess they have a Wheels section. Today they named the Maverick their "Car of the Year". I guess they include all types of vehicles in their "Car" sector when awarding this title. Article mentions other...
Interesting video on these two trim choices. The reviewer is a bit over the top, but he does point out differences I hadn't seen before.
Since I'm getting older I decided to go with the Lariat with Lux Pkg since I plan on keeping for many years, so increased cost is only a few hundred...
The recent infotainment screen protector thread caused me to think of a possible glare issue.
I've seen in a few reviews (of the many I've read) where the it was mentioned the screen fades in bright sunlight due to being completely horizontal.
I test drove an XLT on a cloudy, rainy day prior...
