That 73 must get up and gallop. Sweet!

A friend of mine owned an early 70's blue Maverick back in the early 80's. Not a good car. Frankly, it was junk, but we had lots of fun partying in it during our high school years.

I have always wanted to restore a car the year I was born, 1972, and now that I have the 2022 Ford Maverick on order I have thought about doing a 1972 Ford Maverick. I think it would be cool to have the Mavericks both new and one from 50 years ago. I would probably do up the 72 Mav mostly stock but with some custom touches to make it look cool. Nice looking 73 Mav as well.

I have no desire to restore a 1951 anything. I've done several mid 50's restorations and unless you are a millionaire it ain't worth it. Uncle DeVoe can do it.

I like the V8 and it's position in the engine bay and rear wheel drive, vs the new side way enginge with power going to the front wheels.

Looks like the old one is cyber orange before cyber was a thing. :) that Maverick engine bay looks like my hair in the morning... plus it's stuffed in with a shoe horn compared to the old Maverick.

I told a salesman at the dealership when we bought Wifey's 2010 Prius "There is nothing under the hood that I'm touching" so don't need to look under the hood. (Maintence is Business Expenses)

Nice pair! Really enjoy seeing those "original" Mavericks customized. They really have nice lines, and take well to Hot-Rodding.

Had a friend many years ago who built a pro-street Mav, while I was building a Mustang. He never finished it, but did get it running & driveable, had a .030 over 460 Lima motor in it, built pretty stout, ran low 10's pretty consistently. Can't help but wonder where it might be now.....
