Most of the pictures I have seen compare the size to another truck, like the F-150. I have not seen any pictures comparing the Maverick to a normal sedan, so I thought I would take some pictures and post them here.
I have a 2012 Ford Fusion Hybrid with 140,000 miles. This hybrid is still going strong, and for several reasons I want to stick to the hybrid powertrain. The power on my hybrid Fusion is smooth and strong, I can out-accelerate just about anyone up to about 40 MPH. After the ICE kicks in acceleration is not as strong as with the motor. I have gotten about 35 miles per gallon over the life of the vehicle, a little lower the last couple of years (down to about 33 MPG), but I have never had to replace the brakes, either. Yes, you heard that right, 140k miles, brakes still have plenty of life. Regenerative braking is really cool when you don't just jam on the brakes when stopping.
A couple of things: perspective matters. The car closest to the camera in an image looks bigger, so I tried to take pictures taking the scale into consideration. Compared to another truck the Maverick seems small, compared to a sedan, though, the Maverick looks like a regular truck. Hood is higher, roof line is a lot higher, bed is higher, ground clearance is considerable higher.
The tires look a lot bigger on the mav, but I have 215 65 R 17's on the Fusion. There is also a picture comparing the Mav to an F-150 to give you a sense of scale.
Take a look.
