Love the truck; mine is in transit and is CG also. Beautiful area. I went to VT for grad school and sometimes worked with a friend who had a research project on the New River. Caught some nice smallmouth when we weren't "working."

Because you're writing this I guess you did not bungee jump off the bridge or if you did you survived. White water float?

Was short stay camping, saw Thurmond, the bridge, and hung out in the river. Gonna go back for rafting and fishing. It pissed rain the whole time so we cut it short.

Way up from Greenville SC which is 5 hours 300 something odd miles, computer was showing right under 30 mpgs. Way home I drove a little faster and got almost 29.5 so this set up only makes me lose about 1.5 mpg compared to no tent.

Not into bungee jumping but I've been to Bridge Day twice and have rappelled from the catwalk under the bridge to the ground, well over 800 ft, multiple times... And still writing.

I will never know!!!! I was at the Bridge when they designated certain days for bungee jumping, I watched, IN FEAR. The bridge is 875 feet above the river.

Nice pics! We went last year and did one of the ACE rafting trips for the day. The easier/less challenging one because we had our 9 yr old daughter with us. Was a lot of fun and beautiful scenery. About a 4.5 hr drive for us. The drive between Charleston and Beckley on I-64 is something I always enjoy....very scenic.

Nice truck and glad you enjoyed part of my wonderful state. Once you come to the mountains, they always call you back. I enjoy traveling seeing new areas but always am ready to come home. John Denver said it best, "Country roads take me home, to the place I belong, West Virginia..."

Took a rafting trip down the New River in April one year thinking it would be warm. Water was 45 degrees, air was 42 degrees.Fun trip but almost ended up with hypothermia. Want to go back and do a fall Gauley River trip, on my bucket list.
