  1. Maverick: First time hunting (report!)

Ah I see! That's a totally different world from here! The only thing we "cull" is coyotes and ground hogs!
  2. Maverick: First time hunting (report!)

Thank you kindly. One thing to know about that "small moose" is that it's still an excellent meat animal. We have a pull scale between the hook and the gambril on our game pole so we are able to weight whatever is hung from it. The moose was quartered, of course, and the four quarters together...
  3. Maverick: First time hunting (report!)

Ground clearance was pretty good! Things look smooth in those pictures but keep in mind that's when things were calm enough to snap a picture while driving! I took some pretty steep embankments up and down, some rough troughs driven over, some of which were hidden by the vegetation so there was...
  4. Maverick: First time hunting (report!)

Do That sounds familiar. I grew up and hunted as a teenager in Ontario which is very similar. I recall all hunting was done “in the woods” out there. Lots of standing and waiting as I recall.
  5. Maverick: First time hunting (report!)

200 meters (yards) is considered a very close shot around here. It’s the prairies. Staying 200 from the bait is essentially over the bait here. that moose was taken about 380 meters. 270 win with GMX. As you can probably tell in the photo, he was trying to cross a quarter section to make it to...
  6. Maverick: First time hunting (report!)

Looking good! I sometimes forget that your seasons start much later than ours and that the animals are much smaller. I believe ours started sept 17 for rifle and earlier for bow. Also, we’re not allowed to feed or bait.
  7. Maverick: First time hunting (report!)

Well, I'm afraid you'll be disappointed. We're out hunting for meat to feed the family for the year. Collectively, we took a muley doe, a buck, and a small moose. Good eating.
  8. Maverick: First time hunting (report!)

^^^ no field dressing? I guess people do things differently in different places.
  9. My Electric Gauge Is Missing???

no it’s not there. Settings, screen content, left gauge, power gauge. Your menu scrolls more than it might seem at first. Try pressing up and down more until yit has find “settings”
  10. My Electric Gauge Is Missing???

I just stepped out to the truck for a minute. Here are the steps you need. Ignore the dust please.
  11. My Electric Gauge Is Missing???

Go to settings, display (I think) and there is an option to enable the power meter. It will appear on the left. It’s not on by default. If you don’t get it, I’ll pop out to my truck at lunch and get the exact menu location for you.
  12. Maverick: First time hunting (report!)

I hear you! Things were a little hectic at pack up and I forget to take pictures!
  13. Maverick: First time hunting (report!)

Previously, I've hunted with RAM Trucks, exclusively. My last was a 2019 RAM tradesman 4x4. I was a little worried to see how the Maverick would perform. My hunting location is in Northern Alberta, somewhere near the Peace River. I drove down from the plateau all the way to the river basin...
  14. Dealer Maintenance Partially Complete? Do I trust them?

OK. and a 2019 Corolla calls for 0w-20 synthetic. What does that have to do with anything?
