  1. 2025/2026 XL/XLT Adaptive Cruise Is Working -- DIY how-to install instructions

If you want to try IPMA 706-15-01 xAxx-xxxx-xxxx instead of x9xx-xxxx-xxxx, its supposed to keep both the stalk and steering wheel button alive, according to the spreadsheet. Maybe that will keep the toggles separate... Didn't work on my truck, both buttons were not responding, but I didn't test...

You can always disable the centering on the Features>Driver Assistance>Cruise Control screen. A lot more steps than a button though. I don’t advise this, but if you don’t buckle in, it does the same thing.

@84convertablegt I still see the lost comms with APIM code, did you figure out what that meant? Everything still works on mine tho.

It’s a waterproof connector by design, as long as all 8 pins have wires coming out of the back. In my case I used heat shrink to seal the ends of the 4 loose wires we don’t need to use.

I hope its not water intrusion, but everything comes right back as soon as I park and cycle the truck off then on. It will even work for a bit until the speed gets up enough the car in front of me starts to kick up some mist, then I see the icon for the lead vehicle on the IPC flash in and out...

Have any of y'all that completed the mod had issues when its raining? Without fail, every single time it rains, heavy or lite, adaptive cruise and forward collision assist disable until I power cycle the truck.

Only if you don't wanna buy the Ford bracket šŸ˜‚ In other news, I helped a local 2026 XLT owner finish the wiring and get his ACC going this morning/afternoon. Confirmed exactly the same as the 2025 🄳
  8. Auto AC is weak when it is hot outside

I cant find a good btu or kw rating for our truck, but I bet thats close.
  9. Auto AC is weak when it is hot outside

I do AC for a living, the 15-20F delta is true, but not to outside air. That number gets thrown around a lot and misunderstood. That's the delta from the intake on the blower. A proper running comfort cooling system will run space temp minus 15 to 20, depending on humidity, coming out the vents...
  10. Auto AC is weak when it is hot outside

FWIW I live in a hot, mildly humid climate. It is regularly 90F and 75% humidity in the summer mornings, 100F and closer to 50-60% in the afternoon. My XL works great on auto mode, I usually use 2 bars on the auto but on the days less than 80 I do one bar. I'll need 3 bars for a few minutes...

You get used to it, just the weight of one hand is enough to shut it up in my experience, the first week or two were annoying tho. Id like to find a way to modify the timeout on it, but it may not be exposed in forscan.

It might have clipped at the top and bottom… but I know it worked. You can see how that horizontal bar is shaped to get shallower in the center, I’m pretty sure that’s moulded with the CCM cover in mind

It’s not obvious, the square cover has 4 tabs that squeeze behind the grill. The grill didn’t seem to be shaped to accommodate but it fit right in on my xl.
