  1. Maverick Hybrid as Booster Vehicle?

I may not have made it obvious, but I meant use it to charge your phone, so that it is discharged, then charge it. Run it down, then charge it, on a monthly basis. It shouldn't require monthly charges if left alone, but left alone for 3 years? (Which is how long it will sit if you don't have...
  2. Maverick Hybrid as Booster Vehicle?

I should have mentioned that in spite of the Mav being perfectly fine at jumping another vehicle, (and another thing they forget to mention in the manuals, once hooked together, take a break while the jumping vehicle is "running", in this case the Mav in Ready mode, so that the jumpee can get...
  3. Maverick Hybrid as Booster Vehicle?

It'll be fine. Just don't do what someone did when I jumped them from my Prius and spark the cables together. It didn't hurt anything, but the computer wasn't happy about it, I doubt the Maverick would be either. Jump points can be at the battery under the back seat passenger side, or...
  4. Removing bed and cab plastics for a custom bed cover

I am curious who has removed these (long-term), and what they’ve done about water, which to my understanding, gets under the roof rail, then behind the cab rail, and finally leaks into the bed near the front? This is something I am in the planning stages for: a custom wood bed cover. Why wood...
  5. Strange HVB behavior

I'd expect the wheels to have fallen off before the recall if I had that problem.
  6. Strange HVB behavior

2025 XLT Hybrid, FWD. I run a ScanGauge, and so I have access to the "HV State of Charge" readout from the computer. I know all about how Li-* batteries work, and that computed SoC is only a guess, so let's get past that part. In my Prius, (a 2017 Two-Eco with the Li-Ion pack), whatever SoC I...
  7. What's everyone’s mileage now 👀

2025 Hybrid FWD, 112K, (purchased 2025-07-01), obviously I work it, and it has had the HV battery replaced under warranty, but I think only because the contactor went bad. I ran a Prius to 396K, never replaced the rear brakes, and replaced the front at 250K, so I am expecting the same out of...
  8. Post YOUR Maverick TRUCKING!

Why estimate when you can know? CAT scale is $15 most places, and then you have verified bragging rights
  9. Post YOUR Maverick TRUCKING!

I wouldn’t, cooling really only comes into if you’re pushing hard in the desert, and the hitch can physically handle it. No major hills around? Just drive like a loaded semi. Slow starts, keep the speed down. It’s not a Faberge egg.
  10. Truck completely locked up in accessory on mode.

A ScanGauge would be handy to have in this case, as the clunk is known to be part of the AWD system (if you have it), but the lurching comes from the hybrid system very suddenly deactivating due to HV battery weirdness, and that you can see in HVB voltage and amperage readings. My theory (I...
  11. Post YOUR Maverick TRUCKING!

Pro tip for anyone extending their load length with these hitch extender doo-dads, those tie-down points on top can be ratchet-strapped to any high point on the bed (tie-downs, or the gate latching pegs, but those could slip), thus stabilizing the end of the load. Bonus stability if you cross...
  12. Tested the 4K tow package by towing 25' pontoon boat

The Maverick is not made with either a class-I or class-II hitch, it is made with an underrated class-III hitch, and that is common to both the 2K and 4K tow packages. Class-I and class-II both are distinguished by being 1-1/4” receiver size. I can’t speak as to the cooling, that may become a...
  13. Tested the 4K tow package by towing 25' pontoon boat

It takes towing 6300 pounds uphill on an ice slick road to overpower the FWD traction-wise. ask me how I know. 😃
  14. Longest hybrid oil change interval?!?

My next reset came at 110,396 miles, on 5–22. So I seem to be resetting it about every two weeks and 6K miles. 😂
