The "automotive software revolution" is a big cash generator due to the uptick in extended warranties and excessive parts required to keep them running. Rhetorical question: Did the automakers stumble on this conundrum or did they plan it?
Ask the dealership if diagnostic fees are waived before...
There are a lot of thoughtful, useful comments here. I skimmed over all comments. My 2 cents:
Software; Generally speaking, Ford owns the code. Under copyright law, users are not allowed to distribute or modify it and claim it as their own. Ford has not granted you a license to use, I guess it...
Common Sense:
Why did Big 3 and the Pres decide to take time to meet privately on this?
Why didn't they have an open discussion allowing a public forum?
Timing of Farley remarks; what's the beef, what are the details, why now?
How many times have the lobbyists and politicians met and J. Q...
Ford dealers are required to use Ford parts per their franchise contract. Not sure on this one: Ford mechanic training is paid by Ford dealer? When I worked at Chevy, this was the case. New thought: Think of the increased backlog if we have to go to Ford. Good grief!
I'm thinking the Big 3 meeting with Orange Man, and Farley coming out with the crap the next day is they want new laws favoring their position. The Big 3 are spending big dollars computerizing everything and they want to cash in. Service contracts are becoming necessary Chaching! Only the Big 3...

1300 Pounds of split wood. Fit underneath the tonneau cover. Couldn't get another piece underneath. Front end didn't track very well. BTW, stacking wood that high might put the truck on its side if you have to do an evasive maneuver. Maybe try a a load bed-high to get a feel for how it handles.
To the OP, I sympathize with your experience. The Mav is a car with a truck bed. It is in no way shape or form comparable to your Tacoma. IMO, save the tire money, and use the real horse (Tacoma) for the real truck work. Maybe keep the Mav for gas mileage.
You could use Motorcraft Air Intake and Valve Cleaner part number RU2J-19G295-C. (takes 2?). Follow the instructions on the can. Ford product, Ford approval?
I loved your post. I've been there and done that. I did exactly what you did w1th the exception of vehemently cussing myself out because I know better and I am a perfectionist. Fortunately my incidents are rare. And, hey, crap happens.
The ball joint is held in place by a threaded bolt that doesn't have a castellated nut with a cotter pin. Ford went cheap. Your life depends on the bolt never coming loose. I guess the torque needs to be checked at service intervals. Ford (and others) lowers their costs by transferring work and...
The advisory says visually inspect. The TSB would be helpful. In the meantime, get one wheel off the ground and check the control arm at the ball joint. Grab the arm and tug it in all directions, up, down, sideways. Any movement you have a problem. Sometimes, there is no movement and the ball...
In case it hasn't been posted (tried to read all posts, this thread): https://www.toptiergas.com/#stations. This site will tell you which stations in your area are top tier. In my area its all Marathon stations and Costco. And yes, there's an app for that.
