  1. Ford Issues Do-Not-Drive Advisory for Certain 2021-2026 Maverick; Owners Urged to Contact Dealerships Immediately (June 1, 2026)

if I go to the ford website and try to see if there are any recalls that apply based on my VIN I get a page that says "Access forbeidden" in some browsers and just a blank page with a spinning "status" circle that never loads on other browsers. I'm in Canada sadly so it would be ford.ca...
  2. Members who seem to disappear

I joined hoping I'd love my Maverick. Mostly now I just pop in once in a while to see if there are new recalls I need to be worried about as I can't check online as the site won't work if you block ads and trackers. I'm probably more active here in the winter when I can't ride my bikes and...
  3. Ford Issues Do-Not-Drive Advisory for Certain 2021-2026 Maverick; Owners Urged to Contact Dealerships Immediately (June 1, 2026)

No idea if this applies to my Maverick - the online VIN/recall website won't load if you block ads and trackers. You'd think that they'd at least let you know if their POS vehicle is safe or not without spying on you. Just another log on the fire for me...
  4. Highest elevation your Maverick has climbed to?

Where I live the highest point of land is an eye-watering 150m (~492 feet!) above sea level and I've driven by there as close as the road goes. Thankfully the maverick is fuel injected so I didn't have to rejet the carb...
  5. No originality

Irony: The Pontiac Aztek was such a sales disaster the entire team was fired. Now *EVERY* car is basically a Pontiac Aztek
  6. What bolts to buy for cargo in bed? - tired of buying the wrong ones

I bought some cargo tie-down loops to put in the bed - I don't need a fancy OEM or even DIY system with rails and sliding bits. Just fixed tie downs would be awesome. I bought some bolts from amazon that claimed to be the exact match. They do not fit I checked all the threads I could find...
  7. Cool features our Mavs should have

    Footwell vents
  8. GPS Ripoff

Never seen one but I bet it's tied to how you open it. I'm guessing there is a lever/fob/button and those can be tracked super easily. Hell even a contact switch tied to the bus would tattle on it being opened. Never underestimate the value of telemetry... to everyone but YOU
  9. Surging when stopped. Anyone else?

I do. That's how I know the EV coach shows increased power consumption when you push the brakes harder. Didn't stop my MY26 from bumping into the car ahead of me at a red light. Dealership appointment this week to hopefully get an exorcism
  10. GPS Ripoff

Ford is terrible for the features you get for the price. Why? Because enough people don't care enough for Ford to care. You're not fighting Ford so much as Ford customers. Good luck.
  11. Why turning the steering wheel slightly will restart the engine after stop start has shut it off?

At the risk of a total thread hijack - I get that. Bernoulli's theorem (taught almost universally as why things fly) doesn't cover a lot of things like ground effect, symmetrical airfoils like on at least one Pitts version (that oddly enough flies faster inverted) etc. Kites are a special case...
  12. Why turning the steering wheel slightly will restart the engine after stop start has shut it off?

BWAHAHAHAHA Thanks - I needed that this morning. A good chuckle and some fond memories. (BTW - that shouldn't fly according to what they teach in school - and FLIGHT school - about airfoils, lift, and why planes fly. LOL)
  13. USB-C port stopped connecting

Not sure if you can do media from the peanut gallery... we were just trying to keep our phones and flashlights charged between jobs. The USB worked to charge stuff - then it didn't. Continued to not work until the next day. Random weirdness we now laugh about (way too often)... and we make...
