Hi:
Purchased my 2025 Maverick Hybrid this past March. Installed my Icom IC v3500 radio along with the BulletProof Diesel third brake light antenna mount. Expensive but slick.

Was enjoying the hybrid until "sleep mode" reared its ugly head. Long story short. Whenever I do not drive the truck for 4 or more days, the battery goes into sleep mode. This has happened 3 times. First time, jumped started it and drove it to dealer. They installed a new battery. Second and third time, dealer towed it. The second time I was told it was 12v battery drain because of software installed in air conditioning control module. (SSM 53891). Did whatever Ford told them to do an installed another new battery. Third time they claim the Icom is the problem. They disconnected it and let car sit over night and said it fine. (The truck has to sit for 4 or more days for the sleep mode to kick in.) I do not think my rig is the problem because when it is off, there is no measurable draw. Because I have to go out of town for a week, I told them to keep the truck and try starting it in 4 or 5 days. When I get back, I'll give the dealer a call.

We all know that there has been this problem with the hybrid since its inception. I don't think most owners experience it because they drive the truck every day. I have a "summer toy" and therefore, the truck sits idle for many days throughout the summer.

If the problem continues, I think the lemon law in the state I live in will kick in and I'll hopefully get rid of it. I might then get the eco boost.

Anyone care to opine?

Thanks.

Decades ago I standardized on Anderson PowerPole power connectors for all my 12v ham gear. With PowerPoles installed it would take only a second or two to electrically separate the rig's power cord from the vehicle. Once that separation has happened there is *no way* that the rig can draw *any* power from the Maverick *and* that fact is obvious to any Ford dealership employee you encounter.

I'd ensure that your ham rig cannot logically be blamed for your Maverick's lingering electrical issues before your next dealership visit.

It's also worth noting that there are several threads here with folks that *had* issues like yours and are now reporting that those issues are now behind them. So that tells me that there IS a fix for the issues you are seeing.

I'd stay on Ford for a fix
