I looked at a couple of antenna mounts that attach to the third brake light, like this one from Larson. However, I found them to be too expensive for what it is.

So, having time on my day off, I started drawing my own. I have some ASA filament, which is a lot more UV resistant than PLA. I still need to draw the openings on the back, but it is a lot closer. I will probably print one out, to check fitment, tomorrow.

When I am done, I will post it in Thingverse. So, if it works, it will be available for free.

For anyone watching this, the mount is too wide for my printer. There is just no position where it fits.

So, it will have to be printed in two parts.

@Robert_C I am printing a "Near Final" fitment copy. I am not done with the filleting, as Freecad doesn't like to work right if the piece has fillets.

I decided on M4 bolts to hold the two halves together. I started with M6 and then gave it more thought.

Once I am done with the fitting I will probably make the holes, that are used to screw the taillight to the cab. more appropriately sized. I also need to run coax trough. The troughs are part of why I used such thick pieces.

Print weight is ~650g.

That makes sense. I'm still looking forward to seeing a final product!
