@AbnRgr , I know you're probably in recuperation mode at the moment, but when you're back up and moving around after your hip replacement let us know how it went and how you are doing!

Surgery was Tuesday AM. They had me walking the hallway with the aid of a walker within three hours. No pain whatsoever. Then the swelling kicked in and the surgical prep meds wore off. Now, the biggest decision is the time that has passed and whether to go with the Oxy or an 8000 mg Tylenol. The most difficult thing to deal with is getting into and out of the Maverick with my wife doing all the driving. PT started today, twice a week for six weeks. A pox on all those who decry anyone considering adding nerf bars and side steps. I could really use them now.

I just keep in mind that my mobility and quality of life will be better with my recovery. Thanks for asking. Regards - Jim

Hate to say it, that vaguely sounds like a catheter & bottle. Hope I'm wrong! Wound drain?

Opioids shut everything down. One led to the other. Sure does cramp my recovey.

Finished my first PT session. Still carrying extra plumbing. Hopefully, I’ll lose that tomorrow. I’m able to get in and out of bed and the car unaided. Walking with minimal discomfort with walker. Better than before the surgery.

That sounds pretty encouraging. You'll be off like lightning once those muscles get used to doing their job again. I'm happy for you.

The hip is coming along, beginning the transition from a walker to a cane. The other complications associated with the surgery remain unresolved. I’m being told it is common post any major surgery and it will take time. Unfortunately, it gives a new meaning to plug and play. Thanks for asking.

Very glad to hear you're getting along. As we used to say, "Carry on."
