Hello, Triangle Maverick group. I've been a Maverick owner since last August with my 22 Carbonized Gray Lariat Hybrid. I'm in Cary and ordered my Maverick June 2021 waited 13.5 months and had it delivered to Crossroads Ford in Apex early last August. 13k miles later, still a great vehicle and have been loving the MPGs on it.

Hi NC-Mav, I also ordered my lariat hybrid maverick through the Apex Crossroads dealership, and the tracker was just updated to note that it shipped this past week. I ordered from them last year based on general positive feedback (compared to others in area) from this forum and comments that appear to indicate I shouldn't expect a last minute markup when my order comes in (hoping still true). Aside from that, are there other "required" dealer add-ons I should expect from your experience?

Just trying to get myself prepped before engaging with the sales rep who I ordered with, I figure I have about a month before it arrives...

It was a straightforward experience....only add ons were their $697 (window tint, and some other stuff that I figured I'd have to get tint done afterwards so I didn't try to get out of that) and their standard dealer fee. Overall, I had a positive experience with them and they honored the original pricing from the day I ordered. They said they would only mark up vehicles that were not custom ordered.

@nc-maverick thanks for the response! That's consistent with what I've been led to expect at this dealer. Forum comments on dealers have been a mixed bag so I was getting a little nervous that the dealer wouldn't honor the original expectation at the time of order.

Just wanted to circle back on this after the delivery and purchase of my maverick from Crossroads Ford of Apex. All went as NC-Maverick described with the purchase of the truck itself - relatively simple and no big surprises, the way I like it (even the modest ADM by another name "Surface Protect" package, but at least you get something tangible for it to take aeay the sting). Only odd quirk was that they hadn't included the bed tie down package discount (-$200) from Ford in the sale sheet although it was clearly on the window sticker, but they gave me that after some discussion.
Not over the moon on the dealership, they still very low-balled me on a trade in by almost half (wtf) of what was fair, but it only took one round of counteroffer to get to the fair number we had in mind coming in. I didn't finance so I can't really offer a fair assessment on how aggressive they are on making additional profit on the back-end.
I'm not personally fond of the current auto dealership model forced on the consumer, but given there's not an alternative for this new truck, I'd be willing to do it again with this one in Apex. It may not sound like it but that's actually a recommendation from me.

Can't believe I forgot to mention, the car is great, exactly what I was looking for. Carbonized grey hybrid Lariat with full CP360, sibl, remote start, etc. Getting ~42mpg on my 50mi daily round trip commute across a mix of I40, 540, 440 and Creedmoor Rd. The only dislikes are all the random click sounds it makes if you walk around the car with your keys in pocket, and the fake electronic sound it makes at low speed for pedestrian safety. That last one is loud enough in the cabin to have me thinking something was wrong the first couple of days before realizing what it was.

@TriangleGuy glad it worked out for you and you are enjoying your Mav. Overall, I would buy from them again and I can't speak for the trade in process since I sold my other vehicle thru Leith who gave me a much better offer since my salesperson said that they won't give me as much as others so I took her advice and did it separately. Overall I'm averaging 40 mpg with a mix of driving and a couple of road trips since last year but there are some local daily trips where I can get about 45-50 mpg says the trip computer. Can't beat that.
