I guess I qualify as an Old Fart, but with a young heart. I'm 74 yrs. and live in the Atlanta Ga. area. I purchased my Hot Pepper Red , XLT, 2.0 Liter Maverick on March 15th of this year. I'm enjoying the truck greatly. This is my first new vehicle in 20 years. My last vehicle was a 2001 Ford Ranger. I drove it for 23 years. I blow a head gasket after 224,000 miles. I decided not get a new engine, which was recommended, but purchase the Maverick. I think I made the right decision, even though I hated to see the Ranger go. However it went to a good home. A Ford mechanic at my local dealership bought it for his son. He will put a new engine in it himself and most likely get another 200,000 miles on it. FYI, my first vehicle was a 1964 Chevy Impala. Bought it while I was in High School in 1968. Had multiple cars after that, including a 1972 Vega, which also blew a head gasket while still under warranty. Lesson is, don't run through a puddle of water with an aluminum block engine, the head gasket will blow. Some else in the club mentioned having a Vega with some problems. I understand his problems.
