Bay Area Mavericks

Hey Bay Area, let’s get together and share our builds, dealer experiences, great local drives, meet ups, and more!
Hello to all the Bay Area Maverick club ... looking for wheels, I'm over in the East Bay.

Updated info about my wheels for sale (see the Market: wheels/tires/brakes ...forum subsection) .... recommended tires sizes.

The 19" are 11-pounds lighter than the 19" Escape wheels, and a better offset for the Maverick.
The 18" wheels are even a better fit, and are 22-pounds, so a whopping 15-pounds per wheel lighter than the 37 pound 19" Escape wheels that people put on their Maverick.

Freeway close ... over here in the East Bay (Castro Valley) meeting place.

Perfect wheels for the Maverick Sport Truck ... beautiful.

FOR these wheels for sale ... my advise is as listed here. For each tire size, there are many brands and types of tires, sticky summer tires, all-season performance tires, and such. All these sizes are readily available ... for example from both Tire Rack and Costco.

Tires size for similar OEM revs/mile:

245/55-18 for the 18 x 8 wheels.

(same 727 revs/mile in most brands, a few at 726 ... sort of varies due to tread depth/type)

245/50-19 for the 19 x 8 wheels.
(this lower profile offers some summer tires, at 725 and 726 revs/mile, so essentially the same rolling radius/diameter as the OEM tire)

Tire sizes for a slightly wider than OEM width ... offering good tire-clearance are the 235's

For the 18" wheels

Acceptable Less revs/mile (i.e., a taller tire): 235/60-18. ... 714-716 revs/mile range (brand/type).

For the 19" wheels

Acceptable Less revs/mile (taller tire): 235/55-19. ... 712-720 revs/mile range (brand/type).

Acceptable More revs/mile (shorter tire): 235/50-19 ... 735-739 revs/mile range (brand/type).

For the "street truck" ... look at the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV tire.

SO, my advise is:

245/55-18 for the 18 x 8 wheels.

245/50-19 for the 19 x 8 wheels.

as reported, users say "no rub" ... (one's results may vary based upon wheel offset).
