Alright Canadians, talk to me about WINTER fuel economy with my HYBRID…
I picked up my truck (hybrid XLT) in August (ordered may 2022) and I’ve been loving the fuel economy.
I’m in Calgary, so my driving (in eco mode) is split between highway speeds around 125km/hr & inner city stop & go at more lights than reasonable — I average 5.7L/100km (manual calc, not dash calc).
And now there’s snow.
And I haven’t seen a trip on my dash below 7.0; 11-12L/100km is more typical. I’m running the heater, seat heaters are on only at the beginning of a trip…
I’m adding snow tires to the mix next week.
Basically fuel economy dropped by half with the snow.
Is this my new winter normal?
Any tips for from those of you who had your truck last winter?
