I personally see no use for it. Now if the full rear window was powered and went all the way down that would be awesome!
Now you're talking. Just like the old station wagons. That would be great.

It seems like those rear windows are so small they wouldn't be useful for anything. But even if they were bigger why do people want them? I do remember as a kid riding in the back of pick ups and being able to talk to passengers up front. But not too many people do that nowadays.

It's the one option I added that I want to pull from my order. Convince me otherwise :D
Got the sliding window for one piece fishing poles. These will not fit in a 4.5 ft bed, better that they fit through a back window then risk breaking while hanging out of the small bed

I see no acceptable use for it to reduce my rear visibility, even if ever so slightly. My dog has passed away so I don’t need a hole for him. I also don’t see my self needing it for anything that is too long to haul in the bed. Since it’s mechanical I would almost never open the thing.

Within 30 days, will hate that you took it off the order

I wished Ford did not have the sliding rear window and have a rear defroster available. A rear defroster is far more valuable in the upper Midwest than a rear window!

Air flow. Crack the front windows (or open sunroof if equipped) and you get smooth full air flow through the cabin.
Not sure I have F150 no moon roof. Open rear window put down from and rear door windows and it buffets you kinda hurts my ears as well.
Maybe moon roof fixes that.

I have used my rear window for getting drinks out a cooler in the bed, for my dogs to get a sniff while riding and to leave open for cool air while sleeping overnight in my truck

The rear window is really small.....in the 7x11" range. While I see a few commenters mention good possible uses like fishing poles, dog snouts, and running an extension cord from the cab inverter to the bed.....I question whether or not the size is large enough to be practical for long pieces of wood. Maybe one or two 2x4's, but any more than that and I would guess it'd be easy to crack/damage the glass.
I chose NOT to have the slider. Mainly worried about leakage/winter ice problems.

Beg to differ, I used mine in my 07 ranger and hardly ever needed a/c when 45mph or greater.
For 45mph, the windows down is surely more efficient, but just remember that highway speeds pretty sure consensus is that the added drag of windows down was less fuel efficient than just running the AC, especially since you can run on recirculate and just turn the on the AC intermittently to maintain that cabin temp.

I went in to the dealer intending to include it on my order. When I got home, I realized that I'd forgotten. Before calling the dealer to add it, I reflected on the utility of that tiny manual (XLT) window and decided it had minimal utility and represented just potential problems.

No sunroof. No rear sliding window. Keep it simple.
