This is a good thread I followed to get the front turn signals as DRL: https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...gnal-at-100-no-low-beam-working-xl-xlt.44434/. With LED switchback lights, there is not much heat difference between park and turn signals being on, as just using a different set of LEDs with similar brightness. And besides, kind of evens out the usage, park lamps on all the time at night, turn signals during the day.

Thanks. So change parking lamps to DRL and then the as-built stuff:
- High beam to high beam only.
- Low beam to low beam only.
- Turn signal for turn only.
- Disable police silent mode.

But how is this decoupling the front parking lamps from the back? Parking lamps implies all, not just the front. Wasn’t the original issue the rear parking lamps being on as well?
I honestly had no idea that the rear lights would come on as well with the parking lamps until someone had mentioned it.

Now that I have the parking lamp stuff done, I'll work on isolating the rear light behavior. In parallel, I'm still checking to see if there's a "better" way to make the parking lamps the DRLs. I think right now, the low beams are disabled rather for the DRL rather than making it specifically the parking lamps, if that makes sense?

I found it's doable in the As-Built data as well, just change the 422 sequence to 421. Temperature is probably a bigger issue for the OEM bulbs since they are resistance based. If the ambient temp is in the 100-110s Fahrenheit, then the total heat might do damage.

It's likely less of an issue for the LEDs. I did record when I installed the Lastfits so when they (eventually) burn out, I'll try it with the turn signal (max brightness) instead and see if there's any difference in terms of lifespan.
