Have a 24 Maverick bought new 7 months ago. Had a 1 inch level kit put on it with 2000 miles on it. Just recently at 14000 miles sounded like a bad strut. Dealership would not cover under warranty because of the level kit. This is not a lift kit I argue to them but made no difference, so just wanting to warn ones to wait to make mods on your truck till the warranty runs out! I will miss the lift kit but next year when the warranty is out I will be putting on that 2” lift kit!

Can the dealer just say no we won't fix under warranty? I always thought they would see the issue and then communicate with Ford to let them know what the situation was and then Ford approves it or doesn't. I can't see why a dealer would just fix it and then hope that Ford will reimburse them for it.

They should in theory have to check with Ford. If Ford says no, you are out of luck at any Ford dealer nation wide, since it will be flagged in the system.

In my experience warranty work is scrutinized much more closely than it used to be.
We dropped off my wife’s 19 Escape for a couple of recalls and I thought maybe I should have the cooling system pressure checked. It was a little low (30,000 miles) and I’m aware of some cylinder head issues with the 2.0 it uses.
We have the best extended warranty that was offered so I figured better safe than sorry. That was until the service writer informed me that it would cost me $200+ for the check if they found nothing wrong.
That’s when I said, “scratch that, the sonofabitch can just burn”.
We’ve bought 5 new Fords from this dealership and it just rubbed me the wrong way.
I had a Ram dealer give me a new radiator, coolant and clamps for a 93 1500 that split the radiator at about 300 miles Past the warranty. I swapped it out myself but I didn’t care, probably saved a 30 yr old dude $500😊.

I threw up my hands today because of the battery issue. Had the battery tested 3 times past month, two time 11.6 and 11.7,the third time 12.6 (all by ford dealership) and they determined it's a good battery. Now past week, I have been in battery saving mode every day. Bought a AGM today and Ford dealership will install Tuesday When asked if warranty, both 3 year or extended will cover part of this? They didn't think so, but you just don't know.

Are they blaming the level kit for the strut. I'm not sure that they can deny warranty if the "modification" didn't cause the issue. They have to prove that the level kit is the reason why it failed. Wouldn't this be fall under the Magasun Moss Warranty Act?

Feel free to pay for the lawyer in order to find out because that's the game they play.

NO, NO, NO. Magnusson-Moss DOES NOT cover modifications, period. Ford does not have to prove anything.

The voltages are within normal operating range. Your battery most likely needs time in a maintainer to remove sulfation. The reimbursement for battery to dealer test requires, I have been told 3 hours. I feel like some dealers eat the battery replacement cost and most likely do so only on the ones they have sold.
