I have to say I am pleasantly surprised. We have lots of hills in this area and I don't think I have moved the needle passed 30% on the power gauge going up one. On dry pavement she jumps off the line quick enough, but I have unintentionally lost traction off the line in the rain (slipped sideways slightly when the tires hit the painted stop line). Having come from an AWD SUV it caught me off guard a little. The last FWD vehicle I had was a 1981 Nissan Sentra (Manual transmission) that I sold in '91.

Having drove a 2015 Prius for 7 years, I can tell you that the Maverick in a regular mode will beat the pants off the Prius in the "sport" mode. I can accelerate much easier on to the freeway and pass people trying "wedge" me out of spaces on the freeway.

For a "hybrid truck", it is fast when I need it to be. And yes, I drove a 1969 Plymouth GTX 440, 68 Mustang with a built 350 engine and tranny amoung other cars, so I know acceleration.

I was driving a Nissan Rogue before I got my Maverick, so yes, I am impressed.

There where 7 corvettes lined up waiting for the light to turned green. Two lanes so I took the empty lane next to the final corvette.
Maverick held Its own, not even in sports mode. My buddy corvette only pulled ahead by the front wheel well before lanes merged into one.

Haven't taken my Mav on the highway yet but I go up a 25% grade every day , she handles it well, very surprised. When I really want speed I jump in '07 Vette. What a great life !!

Love the power. Plenty for me. A great off the line. Beats my 08 Lariat F150 off the line. Can’t tow a boat though.
Can't is a 4-letter word you should not be using around the Maverick.

Pop it into sport mode and give it another go.
No thanks. Can't stand the fake shift experience. It always reminds me of a bipolar clunk-o-matic conventional automatic transmission that can't decide which gear to be in, during "punch it" events.

Yes, pleasantly surprised much better acceleration for normal driving than I expected👍😀.
You've got TWO power plants under the hood instead of one. Why wouldn't it lean towards the fast side??? 😎

Perhaps because both are relatively small in terms of power? Less combined horsepower than the 2006 Colorado that I swapped for the Maverick hybrid.

I ordered the hybrid without having driven a maverick of any kind so yes, I was pleasantly surprised❗😉

I’m happy with Pepper. Not as fast as my 2010 V-6 Ranger, but way faster the the 74 Pinto I had.

Sometimes I'm pleasantly surprised and other times I'm not impressed at all.

When I'm pleasantly surprised that puts a smile on my face. Like when I would get on it when I had my '18 F-150 3.5EB. When I'm not impressed I'm like can this thing get out it's own way. My '94 Ford Ranger (4cyl) was the same way.
