I've tried a couple USB CD players in my '24 Lariat but they just don't work, or work whenever they feel like it (not often). It was suggsted that I may need to connect the CD player to the audio sytem via a 3.5mm "Aux" jack. I don't see one on my Maverick. Any ideas?

There is no 3.5 Aux plug in mine, either. I got a CD player that has a radio transmitter built in and I tune the CD player in on the radio.

Please tell me make/model of that unit. I think it is what I need!

It works okay, but I think you can do better, so I won't go so far as to recommend it. Maybe somebody has one that works well and would be willing to share the details. Maybe I'll buy a new one, too. 😬

You can just buy a radio transmitter for your CD player, no need to buy a whole new CD player. Aux inputs really haven't been a thing for years with Bluetooth devices and USB memory sticks filled with music.

I suggest finding someone willing to transfer your CD catalog to a USB, you'll find it much easier to search for and find your music

Already did that. Maverick cannot find artists, or albums/folders, usually. This same USB memory stick worked beautifully in my '21 Subaru. Ford's system does not seem to understand it. Similar to the problems with the CD player being plugged into the USB.

What format did you convert the files to?

Try a USB C to 1/8 TRS cable. Sweetwater has this one....https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/SRC2001--saramonic-sr-c2001-3.5mm-male-trs-to-usb-c-adapter

Just copied all the CDs onto the computer, then put them on the memory stick. There are MP3 files and WAV files, whatever was on the CDs. Like I said, the stick played fine in a Subaru and if I plug it into my computer it plays fine. It'll play in the Maverick too, but there isn't really any way to find everything by a certain artist, for example. They are in folders just like in Windows, so it should be easy... but not in the Maverick.

I didn’t know that was a thing. That would be pretty handy.

Be sure to to format the memory stick to “exfat” not fat32 in your laptop before loading your music.

There are USB CD players that have been confirmed to work with the Maverick.
