Use Fuel Injection Cleaner in hybrid Yay or Nay? Would love get some feedback on this.

Thinking about down the road using something like Techron Concentrate Plus fuel injection cleaner around 5k/7k/10k miles?
What mileage would be best for using a fuel injection cleaner the first time in a hybrid Maverick?
Would you guys use a fuel injection cleaner?

You shouldn't need extra cleaners if you're using Top Tier gas. Available in all Octane grades and at a lot of stations. Most stations that sell it have a sticker on the pump indicating it is TopTier gas.

Our Toyota dealer has always recommended a fuel system cleaner on our Prius' , every 10-15k I think. I thought it uneccesary, but when we had it done to our used '08 at 70k, it did make the engine start transition hardly noticable. Done it ever since, even on our '14 model. I do agree with fossil and Ozarkbeard on the top tier stuff, however. If your engine start up becomes more noticable, I would try it.

If you use Lucas injector cleaner you not gonna regret. It is heavy oil based additive. Others are just spirits based.... Practically no deferent than acetone. Only good to remove water from gas tank. I use Lucas every 3k miles on my hybrid. Gives a bit more mpg from just 3oz on full tank.

Ditto, I add it about every 3rd fill-up or so.

Oh, the old argument premium gas or fuel additives... Most purchase a hybrid to save CASH not waste it by burning it.

I use Amsoil full synthetic and injection cleaner in my 2013 Silverado.
Wondered if I should in my XL hybrid. If you know about GM and the AFM system you would probably run from my truck. I'm at 160k miles and 0 issues with it. Is it the oil or actively keeping it changed. I go 7-10k on intervals depending on towing and mountain pass driving. Also no issues with fuel system. Yes it cost a lot more but at 160k on a motor that is supposedly going to self destruct.....

If you are going to use a cleaner use something like techron that has PEA. I think redline makes one as well.

It's pretty much snake oil in the fuel tank, but $10 a quarter shouldn't break the bank and if it does you have bigger problems on your hands. Personally I spend it on ethanol free once a quarter instead. Especially since I don't drive as much as I used to.

That said, some of the cleaners like seafoam before an oil change do help a little, especially for the DI crowd like us EB owners.

I think the manual states not to do this? With modern fuels and injection systems you shouldn't have to do this, especially with such low miles. Fuel injection from the early 80,s and even 90,s might benefit from a cleaner. Just my opinion

Seafoam every 15k helps keep injectors and head/combustion chambers free of deposits

Used Techron Since the 80's once a year to clean injectors and heads. Will use on the maverick if I keep one over a year. The my24 is a keeper.. Wife's 2019 Edge 2.3 still running good with cheap gas and Techron.
