I'm trying to figure out which kit is the better choice. With Ford not putting the RSS option in the XLT Luxury Package and not making it a stand alone option (why it's Fleet only is beyond me 🤦🏻‍♂️). So I'm just asking if anyone has either system installed on their truck and if they did it themselves. And if they did the install, how difficult was it, especially the drilling of the sensor locations and such (I'm guessing the bumper has to come off?).

I found a location to install the Echomaster for $500 +tax (which seems fair). And I can buy the Rostra on Amazon for like $130 but install I'll have to do (I can easily handle it). Just wanted to ask if anyone has any opinions on either system. Thanks for the help. 👍

The Ford factory system is not great, and I'm certain that it's a fleet option on XL and XLT because large fleet buyers mandate it for insurance purposes in addition to actual safety benefits.

However, I don't have any experience or advice with these 2 options. There was actually a fairly high-level Rostra employee here 2 years ago, he had a Maverick very early and was talking about things, and pushed for Rostra to make a cruise control kit. (Which became irrelevant when people figured out how to add factory cruise, and then even more irrelevant when XL got cruise standard in MY23.)

Be damned if I remember his username, though. Hope this helps a little. (y)

I'm puzzled by your reply. Purpose of the reverse sensing system? To let me know what's behind me when I back up and how close I am to said object? It's an option that I've had on pretty much all my cars I had as demos working for the Ford dealer and my last two Fusion Energy sedans. An option I like to have for piece of mind. That's the purpose.

You have a Lariat with the Co-Pilot 360 Assist Package as that includes the sensors. It wasn't available for either the XL nor the XLT, either in a package or a stand alone option. Frankly, they should have added it to the XLT Lux Package when they removed some options, or at the very least, make it an option. Sucks for us XLT buyers.

Also, I wish the mods didn't move this to the Electronics section as I feel it won't get the views. Oh well. I hope someone can chime in with some info. 🙏
