I don't want to scare you, but this was weird. With all this computer controlled equipment, there's going to be "glitches".

2022 XLT Hybrid

Pressed the keyfob once, unlocked driver's door only, opened door, chime was going off- the same chime that goes off when you try to exit with key still in ignition. Key is in hand. Chime continues until I start the truck. Ok, fine. Whatever.

3 minutes later, I am driving down a hill. I got a lazy streak. I pressed the L instead of brake pedal. Regen goes full horizontal. I get substantial slowing, but not enough so I press the brake pedal at the same time. Fine. All feel normal and as expected. But now I am slowing too much. So I release the L button. Back in D and in Normal mode. Regen needle goes to zero regen. I lose all braking. I don't feel any brake pads I am freewheeling for 1-2 seconds, accelerating, red light at bottom of hill. Not a big hill either. Like 5%. I had to press the brake pedal maybe half way to resume any slowing at all.
After I stop, I look at scan gauge. Battery was NOT full. After all the stopping, battery was at 56%. Battery was cool, 68°F.

Notice now my headlamps are on from reflections on car in front. Not DRL. Headlamps. Green icon on dash is on. It's 9am. Pretty bright out at 9am. No lamps on switch. And I can't turn them off until I reach destination and turn off the truck, and exit truck. Then they are off.

Headlamps on, no amber light.

I've had this same issue pop up from time to time on my Ecoboost so I can't say the same regarding regen braking since I obviously don't have that. I can say I've had the same glitches were the chime goes off when opening the door, the headlight switch doesn't display the amber light, and the headlights are on. But then it fixes itself right after. It's weird. It doesn't affect the battery either since I haven't had any issues (knock on wood) Like you said, with everything electronically controlled, there's bound to be glitches.

I blame broccoli.

Glad all ended well and you were able to stop. When brakes are involved, @Ford Motor Company needs to get on this one!

At the same time, it's one of those things impossible to replicate on demand.

Ohh definitely. Dealership is going to tell you they see no stored codes in the system and took it for a 30 second spin around the parking lot and it performed flawlessly.

Funny you posted this today. I'm driving away from my grocery store and the clock is 5 hours off. I look again a minute later and it is showing the correct hour. Didn't touch anything.

Obviously you have been abducted by a UFO. Look for any new implants.

When you connect a bunch of computers and sensors in a hub network (only one unit can submit data at any given time), things bound to happen. Not to mention that, if a computer and/or sensor goes haywire and take control of this network, a number of units connected to this network cannot reach the ECU/TCU/etc. In which case the ECU deems the other units/sensors failed and may throw an error code. Provided that the ECU can communicate with the storage unit... ;)

And just like on your desktop/laptop computers and smartphones, where there's always a bug in the the system software, new vehicles are not exempt either. Sometimes I just wonder how long these systems will keep running...

I've had some oddities, too.

Every once in a while, I get a message on the dash that tells me to push the clutch in to start the vehicle. Sometimes the chimes come through the stereo speakers, sometimes they don't. Sometimes the radio works, sometimes it doesn't.

Nothing serious, but it's not exactly confidence-inspiring.
