Yea and that would result in a 20% decrease in product output, wouldn't it?
If staffing levels remained the same. UAW is banking on Ford hiring more dues-paying staff to cover the 20% difference rather than simply automating more of the line.

Sure and they can do that in a snap, and I presume if you work the other 3 days you get more $$$

I work at a dealership and we have still been getting deliveries today. It's only 3 plants that are on strike currently so I doubt it will affect maverick deliveries for now. If it doesn't get resolved soon then you might have to start to worry.

Nvidia’s CEO and co-founder, Jensen Huang, recently made some notable moves in the stock market. According to the latest filings from the company, Huang exercised stock options and subsequently sold the acquired shares over the past few trading sessions.

In blocks of 29,688 shares, Huang exercised his stock options at an exercise price of $4. He then proceeded to sell these shares in three separate blocks, with prices ranging from $466.13 to $497.17 per share.

The filings reveal that Huang generated approximately $14 million in proceeds from each of the three sale blocks, resulting in a total of $42,828,053 from the stock sales.

This thread began as a warning that somehow the teamsters were going to delay Maverick shipments.
They aren't - so far.
They said "Our Teamsters will not cross strike lines" .
They don't have to cross strike lines to pickup from rail lines.
So far they are only striking at 3 plants, one Ford assembly plant - nothing to do with the Maverick. So far.
But then this morphed into people's opinion of unions?
I'd rather read about Maverick issues - this strike may affect the Maverick - but so far - no.
Or we could talk about politics or religion.

And in some cases it could actually help the Maverick.

For instance, for a long time the trailer hitch has been a constraint on the Maverick. But it's not the mechanical hitch, it is the electronic trailer control module that is constrained. The trailer control module goes in every Ford/Lincoln vehicle with a hitch. Ford has been giving the priority to higher margin vehicles and not the Maverick. But if Ford can't make more Broncos and Rangers they could shift some of those trailer control modules to the Maverick.

Gee, The UAW ONLY wants a 46% wage increase. I was once in the UAW, not that I ever wanted to be, and the company I worked for shut down in August, 33 years ago. Hunting seasons start opening up in September, so they are in no hurry to get back to work. Figure out how much a new Ford, GM or Chevy vehicle, made under UAW contract, will cost in the future.
It's not about you. I worked on the GMC assembly line years and years ago so I am biased, and will continue to support the workers. And you should read all of this>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
The current burst of labor activism, in the auto industry, Hollywood, Amazon warehouses, Starbucks stores and elsewhere, is an attempt to reverse these trends. The United Auto Workers, for example, agreed to large pay cuts for new workers when the industry was near collapse during the financial crisis almost 15 years ago. Since then, Detroit’s Big Three — General Motors, Ford and Chrysler (now owned by Stellantis, a Netherlands-based company) — have recovered, earning large profits, but worker pay has not rebounded so well.

Union leaders are now asking for a 36 percent wage increase over four years, to match the similar recent pay increase for top executives. The union also wants pay to rise automatically with inflation in the future, as it did before the financial crisis. Without such cost-of-living increases, inflation causes de facto pay declines every year.

I'm gonna stick to subject and ask how does that apply to teamsters crossing picket lines. sure if they strike the ecvt plant, no deliveries.
If they can’t build them, deliveries are a moot point.
