That's what I was gonna say. I feel like it risks looking cheap on certain vehicles, especially as they age. Like brand new and cleaned up I'm sure it looks fine. But I don't know if it's a positive direction really over the old one.
In years gone by hexavalent chrome was used as a binder for refractories. It stood up well to very high temperatures. From what I can remember it was outlawed in the 1990’s. The refractory business searched for a good replacement and was successful.

I thought the Ford logo looked a bit different in videos from last night's F-150 reveal and this confirms it. I like it. They were overdue for a branding update.
They spent good money for a graphic designer to just delete the outer border? At least put some effort into it like Nissan and KIA did.
For some reason I like the new Blue Oval badge on the F-150. I think for the facelift they should replace the outgoing badge with the new one.

From what I can tell the one pictured is the light up emblem option from the 24 f150 b&p. But that is an extra $450 for that option.

More importantly for Ford, the one on the right is cheaper to produce, they are seriously cutting costs at every possible place they can.

I think the faded emblem on my 2001 Ranger looks like it has the blackout treatment. Can't say the same for the headlights. LOL
