Just saying that I can't imagine getting close to the Carvana offer in a private sale in addition to all the headaches that come with selling privately. It seemed like you were implying that I should think of people wanting a Maverick first instead of doing what is best for me financially speaking......
Ah, that makes sense. I I am in agreement with you in terms of doing what’s best for you financially. It’s just my experience with Carvana and Carmax have been less than decent. Even the Ford dealer gave me a better offer when I bought my maverick. 😊

We don't get a sales tax credit here in Virginia for traded in vehicles so a lot of people here sell to Carvana rather than trading in. I have yet to hear of any bad experiences from people I know who have sold to Carvana but so far my experience wasn't great considering they reneged on their initial offer and seemingly made an excuse. Oh well, sorry for the confusion with my reply.

I sold two vehicles in an 8 month span privately and both were the first person looking. Luck? Maybe. TBH, the only time I've had issues selling anything were in more populated areas I used to live. Every offer I've gotten from those online things has been low ball offers and same with trade in values (with the exception of 2021 giving me $4k over what I paid), but private listings I've had no issue with. But yea, seeing the prices they have on Edmunds/CarMax/Carvana and how many Mavericks there are, it's clear they are buying up people selling Hybrids that don't want anything to do with the potential recall issues and trying to sell them for a premium. The1/3rd that and the highest price one was $40k when I bought mine. It's also funny seeing so many listed as Hybrids but seeing an AWD badge on the tailgate too. The majority are indeed Hybrids though. Kind of strange seeing as how they only accounted for 30% of production models up until this year apparently but are now easily 70% of the ones listed for sale :censored:

The flipping game is over that’s why the 24 ordering banks are Luke warm, my dealer was expecting to sell out their allocation but they only have 7 orders on the books so far.

Too many tire kickers and people wasting time. I tried to sell my motorcycle last summer and had nothing but people wasting my time and mostly just throwing out insane lowball offers even though I was already asking far less than book value.
Yeah I find that to be the case too. Ridicules lowball offers when I say I am firm. No shows. Most likely people thinking the can flip the cars for a profit. Not really interested in getting it for themselves.

Howdy, check Vroom, they were ~$4-5k higher than Carvana when I sold my 2022 XLT a few weeks ago. Perfect experience..

Good luck

While I was waiting for my Maverick to show up, I was checking offers from Vroom, Carmax etc for my '21 CRV. They were offering over $30k in late July and it was down to $27k when my Maverick showed up a week ago. I think the used car prices in general are dropping.

I got 2 hybrids coming 2024 and they are both have a built date already I think the wait times are a thing of the past now that the flippers are gone

The '24 order banks still open tells me the flippers have mostly left the market. Used prices across the board are inching down though.

I KBB'd my Mav a week ago and I believe it was around $38k private party.

That's really good news. Maybe Ford finally got it right.
