well we will see, when it comes out how much it will cost and how uncomfortable it will be.
My thoughts exactly. My nephew works for a Toyota distributor ship. Best family discount he could get on a Tacoma was $5000 more than the Maverick. At the time. Immigration is the sincerest form of flattery. I think when it comes it will be a more expensive, slower, more uncomfortable option in the small truck market.

It will definitely be a 'problem' for the Maverick since it'll add competition to a very dry segment (Maverick, Santa Cruz, and maybe Ridgeline.)
I doubt Toyota will be able to match the value of the Mav though.

Here's my theory

Toyota Stout
+ More reliable brand
+ More high tech features
+ Looks better (Toyota is doing a good job at making their trucks/suvs look squared and aggressive)
- Less power
- More expensive

Why do people keep sharing these rumor-mill stories with nothing behind them and photoshopped images? It's exhausting.

Until a test mule gets spotted or Toyota makes an announcement, this is just a weird clickbait fiction.

Only problem with your theory is that Stout does not exist. It will take Toyota YEARS to build one if they decide to compete. By then the Updated P778 Maverick truck will be on the Horizon with all its improvements.

Toyota will not be cutting edge. They never have been. They just reuse the same tech for decades because they refuse update frequently. They should be reliable, because they will reuse existing components under the skin that have been around for years.

you bring up a good point that the Stout is so far away that the Maverick will be updated by then.
I still do think Toyota would include some of the tech that the Maverick missed the mark on such as keyless entry and ventilated seats in the Lariat.

I expect a higher trim level than a Lariat in the next year or two. Ford makes lots of money on high end trims. Maybe a King Ranch or Platinum next. I don't see a Limited ever making the cut.

Yep the Toyota is gonna be a problem for the Maverick. What Im seeing from those pictures, Toyota is gonna start stealing Mavericks out of the holding lots like everyone else and re-badging them at Stouts!

You'd think with all the talk and talk about the Maverick competition from the future Toyota Stout someone would take the time to at least update the Stout's Wikipedia page but no.

As of now the Maverick has only one competitor and judging from sales numbers it is not a near peer and the Maverick Hybrid has no competitor.

That article as well as any other that I've read about the Stout has a lot of "may" and "probably" statements.

"A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush."
The Maverick is here now. The Stout "may" be a 2025 model for late 2024. It "may" be priced similarly to the Maverick... or... it may not.

That truck better ride better than a Tacoma because those bloody things are barely one step better than a lumber wagon. :ROFLMAO:
