My Mav got built on 7/19 and shipped a few days later. I tracked the rail car and it arrived in St. Louis (where I'm located) on 7/27. Contacted the dealer today and they don't have it yet. Order tracking through Ford has the Mav being delivered between 7/26 - 8/8 so not outside the estimate.

Still, I'm wondering what is taking so long from getting it off the train to the dealer lot. They're 13 miles away from each other.

I guess the question I have is who goes about getting it from the train station to the dealer? Is it a 3rd party, the dealer, combination? I couldn't imagine it would take more than a few days to go a handful of miles.

Thanks!

Likely waiting on a car hauler to have a full enough load to start making deliveries.

The trucking firm can take 1 day to 6 weeks from what I have seen. Mine took 10 days in March...and that short only because a snowstorm was coming and they brought up a truckload that was unexpected.

It is a specialized hauler. Ford nor the dealer have any access or control on the timing of when it gets picked up. If the rail drop is a large one for the region there could be hundreds there waiting for trucks to pick them up.
If a Ford delearship owner had to wait 9 months for his personal vehicle to get delivered (true story) feel lucky if yours only takes a couple to few weeks.

Imagine it.

The final leg from drop yard to stealership can take anywhere from a few days to months. And it's impossible to predict how long it will take. Your local salesperson probably has a better rough idea than anyone on this forum.
