Just putting out some feelers to see if something like this has happened to anyone else who ordered a 2023 Hybrid...
I placed an order with my dealership back in September. We got an order number and confirmation from Ford. I've been keeping up with status of my order pretty frequently since then.
In May I got an email letting me know my order had been scheduled for production at the end of June. At that time the order information still stated it was for the hybrid model.
A few weeks ago I got notification that the truck had been built. Imagine my shock when I checked the model information and window sticker, only to see that it had been built with a 2.0L EcoBoost Engine.
I contacted Ford and they told me I'd have to follow up with my dealer about what might have happened with the order.
My dealer claims this has happened to at least 20 of their hybrid orders and that there's nothing they can do to help me.
So here's my question, has this happened to anyone else? Or is my dealer just screwing me over? It seems like it would be pretty tempting to change a bunch of hybrid orders without telling the customer and being able to flip those trucks for a lot more money.
At this point I don't think there's much else I can do - I specifically need the hybrid model because it can be flat towed and the EcoBoost just won't work for what we need.
