Anyone else experiencing shipping delays?

Ford's website says to expect a few days to a week for shipping on my Maverick built 05/15, but it's been longer than that and a chat agent told me it is expected to ship by mid June. That's a month, not a week, and my dealer is right next to a huge autoport rail yard. Am I wrong in finding this suspiciously long to fill an autorack car?

Filling up a carrier and then finding a train going to Alberta, Canada from Mexico? Yes, I can see that taking longer than going to California.

I think you underestimate how many dealers are hooked up to this yard, but if it really is usually a month why not say that on the website?

A month will be pretty good. My dealer is about 100 miles outside of Houston TX. My Mav shipped on April 25th (according to the tracker) and is sitting in a rail yard on the northside of Houston since May 10th. It might get hauled over to the dealership by June 1st....maybe.

That was the impression I got. Note that this wasn't their estimation for delivery, but to START shipment.

I decided to try chatting with Ford for the hell of it to see if there was any updates on my Mav and I got:

I show the status of your Maverick is In In Transit via Shipped Convoy - (Sierra Mountain Logistics Inc ). Your estimated time of arrival is May-28-2023.

Several reasons why hasn't shipped yet. Was it officially released for shipment or just built? Were there add-on items that have to go to a 3rd party to install after it is built before it can ship? Did it pass all inspections? It can sit for days/weeks at the factory after release before it gets assigned to a railcar. It can take 4 to 6 weeks to get to Canada. Just because the dealer is across from the raildrop doesn't mean they go get it, it waits for a truck to drive it across the street. Once on rail Ford nor the dealer has any control of the truck.

Mine been sitting at rail yard since April 21

There are a couple of factors involved.

1. In Hermosillo they will be looking to completely fill a railcar heading to Calgary or Edmonton. Ten vehicles?

2. The rail route from Hermosillo to Alberta doesn't appear to be a direct line north. More likely the train will be heading east to Kansas City (CP) or Chicago (CN) and then northwest.

3. Who knows?

Guys... After all that yesterday the tracker now says shipped YESTERDAY! Not only this, but it also gives two entirely separate windows for delivery on the tracker at the top and bottom. I'm not being ungrateful I'm just astounded at how bad tracking is! How could they also say estimated to ship mid June only to ship it the same day? Am I to believe that they ship ad hoc without any planning? Or did the squeaky wheel get the grease (not much better than the previous suggestion frankly)?

maybe the person that gave you the info misread it as “shipping” mid June, when it is actually meant “deliver”

Above I mentioned that mine was to be delivered on the car hauler maybe on the 28th of May.
Just checked the tracker and I see.

I happened to drive by and I didn’t see it anywhere on the dealers lot….but maybe they have it back in one of the bays getting the PDI don…..or maybe it really hasn’t been delivered yet.
