Would the design of the Napier for the Maverick allow bugs to come in easily?

My tent just arrived. I test fitted it and the mattress. I like that it doesn't have a floor. But I wish it had windows. Aside from that I think it's a great value. It'll give us a chance to try out camping before spending for a more elaborate set up.

Where is this air mattress from?

So are you overall happy with the tent? Can you review it? Kinda weird looking compared to other models they have. Someone in Reddit commented that it looks like th Maverick is wearing a diaper.

How about not having mesh windows for ventilations? How hard is it to put it up and to take it down?

I had commented on this thread cuz it's a thread about the Napier tent.

So far I'm super happy with it. Plus it was only $122. Hopefully I can go camping within the next 2 months to see how well it works for me.

I tried putting my tent up but I couldn't get the shape to stay. I feel like I'm missing something. Instruction feels lacking and I'm afraid something will break or rip on the tent and scratches on the truck!

So, me too! This tent almost caused my marriage to be in trouble! The instructions weren't much help! I finally figured out:

1. Place the tent in the bed and find the door

2. Tuck the green part below the door underneath the open tailgate.

3. Attach the straps that go from the front of the tent to the hood. Hook them on the hood and tighten them down part way.

4. Lay the two larger poles next to each other and choose the slightly longer one. Put this one in the slot closest to the front of the truck.

5. There are three shorter straps with hooks on each side. The ones closest to the front of the truck should now get hooked under the rear passenger doors. Feel for the correct spot.

6. Put the other longer pole in.

7. The remaining sets of side straps....I used both to loop around my rims and hooked the hooks together. This may or may not be right.

8. Put the short pole in to make the awning.

9. Stake the tent with the ropes and tighten down.

10. Enjoy your tent. My husband calls it Conestoga Wagon mode.

Did all that! Is staking it essential for the tent to take shape? The two walls with the rods keeps flopping down! Maybe I'll give it another try in a much bigger space.

Does it get easier after the first install you think? Even folding it back after my failed attempt felt like folding a king size fitted sheet on top of the laundry! I didn't want to have to place it on the ground to avoid getting it dirty.

i'll try to follow your steps and hopefully can succeed. Thanks!

I just returned from camping. Set it up the same way I did when I tested. 15 minutes to set up 15 minutes to take down. I hope I can offer some input to help.

Looking at the picture above, I've noticed that the bumper is showing. I'd like to suggest since it's the first step and will affect the setup, when you start the setup put the tent all the way under the tailgate and the back part of the truck. If you look at my picture and the picture from jalvay, you'll see that you don't really see any part of the truck behind the rear wheel. I didn't stake mine during the test run and I didn't use it at the campsite either. It worked well. Only 12 mph winds but it was solid. At the campsite I had my wife helped me put the poles through and it made it easier.

Yeah, I stepped back to take the picture after I started to tear it down, probably not the best picture to show. I don't think the staking is essential, but I would certainly do it when actually camping. 15 minutes setup seems reasonable. Did anyone encounter rain taking it out? I would like to know how it does

👍I see the attachment strap closest to the tailgate is attached to the wheel. If you attached it behind the wheel well I think you'll find that it fits better. Just trying to help. Hopefully this suggestion helps you and others.
