Listed.
Please... let me know how many Mavericks are available for me to buy today.

My dealership has 5 Mavericks and 10 Bronco Sports in stock. According to my interpretation of how they present their stock, only 4 of the Bronco Sports are actually available at retail while none of the Mavericks are.

Compare that to the 16 Escape, 22 Edge, and 63 Explorer listed in stock.

Discounting the Escape as that factory has been closed for the last month, the Bronco Sport is still a limited item and it makes sense for Ford to build as many as they can.

Thanks, Einstein.

I'm sure this all made sense in your head.

I wonder how many tanks of gasoline it would take to justify the cost of switching over to all electric? Need to figure in also the increase in electric bill. Perhaps buying solar panels to get free electric? I wonder how much it would cost to buy solar panels? Huummmm. 🤔 Wait a minute, I would be charging the vehicle batteries at night when the sun has gone down. So that means I would have to get electric from the grid. Wait a minute . . . forget buying solar panels then. To complicated for me. Perhaps I'll save the $ on the Lightning and just settle for a little Maverick and continue buying gasoline in small amounts. Now when gas gets around $25+ per gallon, maybe I will look into the all electric mode of transportation. 🤪

Are you concerned about unskilled workers building your little dream machine?

Yeah I saw that earlier. Also the Ford EV was halted because a truck catching on fire.
I think all the OEMs are living in fear right now that they're gonna be the next GM Bolt. You pick a battery cell supplier with poor process control, and your reputation could be tarnished for a decade. Which is why GM swallowed $1.5 billion to replace Bolt batteries (well actually, LG did). Because they knew they had to take the high road.

Until we have fireproof solid state batteries, that will keep OEMs up at night. But after we have solid state, the EV advertisements will be pointing out that 200,000 ICE vehicles have fires every year in the USA alone. I can see the ad now: Buy our fireproof BEV because you love your family (with pictures of an ICE SUV burning intensely).

Disclosure: I'm a huge BEV fan who's waiting on solid state to buy.

So can anyone decipher in numbers what this actually means for Maverick production? Increase by 80,000 units on top of what they were already planning to make? But that’s Bronco Sport and Maverick combined it appears.
Maverick and Bronco. I would guess this is for the MY24. And the July 3rd shift will start production in Aug., Sept. just in time for the MY24 order banks to open.
Just speculation. I need to think this stuff up while I wait for a hybrid.

Ford also claimed to increase production last year. Still had to roll over many orders to 23 so I would not get my hopes up! This year they have had even more problems and have eliminated or degraded several features due to supply constraints. So, I would take this news with a grain of salt.

I get why hybrids are a constraint, but not hitches. They’re not that complex!
The constraint is not the mechanical hitch receiver but rather Ford's Trailer Module which requires micro-chips to drive the hitch electrical connector and communicate with the rest of the vehicle modules over the CAN bus.

The 3rd shift in July, August, September and October will be for 2023 model. First month of 3rd shift will probably be throw away practice builds. Maybe they will sell them for 1/2 price.

I work in Slippery Rock Pa. and the Chevy dealer there has 4-6 Silverado's on the lot. Seems they have no issue with stock.
That's for a common, vehicle that has been produced for years at multiple plants. So those aren't in short supply. Watch the Silverado EV and see how many are in stock the first year. Or the Ram REV.

Yeah, I'm sure railroads are for sale.
All the time.

:ROFLMAO:
Not to pass by the fact that everything (even a railroad) is for sale at some price, I'd be more concerned that they address the final transit delays, which is usually an auto transport. Maybe someday storage and transport fees might encourage the formation of a Ford Transport company, at least in some larger areas
.
But please continue to have your laugh at the idea.

Hey Brad, I think I got you beat. As of today, it’s been 503 days since I placed my initial Maverick order, and still NO PRODUCTION date.

I’ve been purchasing, Ford and Mercurys for my family for 4 DECADES.

I am disgusted with the current management team at Ford Motor Company. I started looking for a new vehicle for my wife a couple of weeks ago, but I’ve not stopped by any Ford dealers to shop. If I don’t get my truck soon, they will have definitely lost a long time customer.

Ford has certainly taken the joy out of the process of ordering a new car. That's crazy. By this time, there is no reason why all of the original 2021 orders are not at least in the build process.

There is no other truck on the market that meets my needs (under 4000 lbs, flat-towable, 4 doors with a pickup bed), or I'd have been long gone by now. I think the snows of last week are delaying the final part of the journey from Mexico as there is likely a shortage of auto transports in Denver at the moment, and no one wants to drive towards Montana.

I assume you have a good understanding of whatever is causing your issue (allocations?) and there is actually an order at Ford, not a dealer FUBAR.

I want to like the Bronco Sport, but... Ford simply does not offer it in a configuration I'd want to buy. If its not drivetrain, its colors or options available, and I am sure I am not the only one who has that view. Try to find one with a black interior and the 10-speaker audio system for example. Its maddening. :)
It fits us perfectly. We do not want a black interior (way too hot here in central CA). The 1.5 engine is plenty powerful enough and a workhorse for Ford around the world. It only uses 2 cylinders on the highway at normal speeds on flat terrain; the 3rd is deactivated. Lots of reports of it breaking 30mpg. We also need the casual AWD for the farm roads that we need to navigate. Back is relatively cavernous. It has IRS all around, thus decent handling. Comes with 360 and we added 360+, so nearly a self driving vehicle. My wife prefers the upright driving position, and this is her vehicle. Many on the BS forum note that it isn't the best vehicle in any category, but all around the very best vehicle for their needs.
