Have you tried sunning it in Slippery Mode to smooth out the throttle response and check the tires to make sure they are aired up to 38 psi? That should help.

Check my Fuelly in signature. That is with a lot of remote start idling and about 70% highway at 75mph. I made 1 trip up I75 to Cincinnati about 200 miles all at 75mph and got 26 mpg. Also my truck had 2 miles on it when I picked it up and maybe 5 or 600 hundred when I made that trip. So im hoping it will get a little better as it gets broken in.

Tremor door jamb says 35psi but once they warm up tpms says they are 37 to 38 psi.

It has the same tire as the 235 equipped fX4 with 8/10th’s of an inch lift over a 235 equipped FX4, front air dam is different, and stronger rear half shafts, likely due to the increased running angle. Does All that merit 20 city 24 Hwy. I am no stranger to poor gas mileage I currently own a 2 door black diamond that does 18.6 city or hwy it doesn’t care (2.3) but it is far more capable than a tremor. So you can’t exactly say that’s the price for off-road capability. Something doesn’t add up with that package. Any thoughts?
Is this real world observed MPG or just stating the EPA rating that took a hit for all Mavericks across the board?

It seems that observed MPGs far exceed the EPA rating so far for Tremors.

Just did a 100 mile trip at 75 mph, up elevation of 3500 feet with 150miles in town. And got 25.5 when I filled up. This truck has only 500 miles on it. I hope for a little better when broken in. But still happy with my mileage. Will be going home Wednesday, all downhill, that should be interesting.

I don't have a Tremor but I do have an Ecoboost with 4K towing and typically get no less than 32 - 35 mpg on the highway at as fast as 75 mph. The EPA ratings seem almost like a worst case scenario.

For reference, my model is rated at 29 mpg highway. Also, when talking about the worst case scenario, it is worth talking about the best case scenario to give you a better idea. At 55 mph, I have got 39 mpg on more than one occasion.

Your mileage will vary a lot more than any other vehicle I have seen depending on how you actually drive in this truck.

My 2016 Nissan 4 banger gets 24 mpg highway (65 mph max). So I am not surprised; which is why I ordered a hybrid (which I my never see). LOL.

Well that is why there are more hybrids ordered than Ford can produce yesterday I had to drive 250 miles from Northern California to Southern California into LA to pick up items that were too expensive to ship. Freeway I was averaging 46.2 mpg at 65-70 speeds and a whopping 50.2 mpg in Los Angeles bumper to bumper traffic. Love my hybrid 👍👍👍👍

A Hybrid has the capacity for more total power, and I wonder what the 2.0 hybrid would have been like. I suppose since the 2.5L is running an Atkinson cycle they can't use it for special editions, but that's what they are starting to put on sports cars. Anyway those difference from a regular 2.0 don't make sense.

I don't think people ordering a Tremor are considering anything with FWD.......not sure why people post things like this

I never even thought about mileage when ordering a Tremor. That isn't it's focus nor mine. I have places to go that requires the clearance and traction the Tremor provides. I know from personal experience what it takes to get there and the types of vehicles that cannot without damage or drama.

MPG reports from the actual Tremor owners suggest the EPA ratings are conservative.

If one needs the mpg over offroad I'd suggest another model, say the standard AWD. Sure it doesn't look like a Tremor but you can always put some lipstick on it. But if you lift it, up size to heavier tires, add under body protection etc. Don't be surprised when you pay in lower mpg despite what the EPA says on the sticker.

Exactly.. I ordered a 22 FX4 AWD, but it was never built.. ordered a 23 Tremor it now has a whooping 350 miles on it.. where I live and what I need a truck to do, the Tremor AWD is it the way to go.. not really into MPG.. a FWD hybrid or gas wouldn't meet my needs.. VERY happy with my Tremor..
