Small update on this turbo and my 87 octane tune. I removed the exhaust and ran a few times open downpipe. Pulled a solid 13.29@104mph! Holy crap! This thing is going to be a riot when it's all tuned up correctly!

Very impressive what you have been able to accomplish. I wonder if there is a way for you to set up a go fund me or similar to raise $ to cover your current / future costs... would not be the craziest idea :) You are doing some free research & design work for Ford & after-market companies. In a couple of years when more mavericks go outside the warranty period there will probably be a decent market for these types of mod.

This is sick! I know what I’m doing as soon as my Mav is out of warranty.

Lol, I could definitely use some more funds! But this is just a hobby for me and I am good with helping out the community. Maybe if for some crazy reason my time opens up, I wpuld consider going further, but I'm a pretty busy bee!

This thread is very informative and encouraging. I am a fan of bolt on parts , and will be thinking about this turbo swap heavily for my Maverick.
Thanks a lot! I wish you powerful gains! 🤘🏼

I still love speed. That'll never change.
Um, I BELIEVE you meant to say
"I still love acceleration." since speed is imperceptible to the human body.

Astronauts go exceptionally fast, yet feel nothing after the rocket engine shuts off.

We crave G-force. Which is why roller coasters exist, and why flight simulators can simulate motion while being bolted to the floor. 😎

Tilt back, feels like acceleration, tilt forward feels like braking. The G force on your seat belt changed, not your speed.

May not be able to "feel" speed but your eyes certainly can perceive it.

Driving 245 km/h on the Autobahn certainly gave me a rush.

Just like driving an icy mountain road at 45 km/h. One wrong move and no forgiveness. 🙏🏻😉

I want to keep up with the progress you make on "beefing up your Maverick". That is a 60's term. If what you are anticipating for WHP the Maverick may gain the respect of people who like to pass in yellow line zones. Thanks for the comprehensive information.

That is the million dollar question! It's lasted so far great, I'm sure it won't last forever though!
i read somewhere that the transmission is the same as the edge st, so it should hold up with no problems.

This is NOT the same transmission as the Edge ST. Similar in design, but not rated for the same torque capacity.
