Ford has typically been pretty good with the Escape/Fusion/Focus when it comes to adding features that weren't there from the factory, ie heated seats, wheel and so on. I guess they are taking a different approach with the Maverick to really maximize profit and not put anything into each trim level that doesn't need to be there.

As someone who views what the Tremor offers in off road capability kind of the bare minimum for what I'm looking for in my next vehicle (a pivot from the hybrid - which was supposed to exist along side a Bronco Sasquatch) - I have been looking at Tacos, Rangers, Colorados, and Frontiers but decided to take a look at F-150 Tremors.

Was surprised to see you can get into one for as little as $56k. Kudos to Ford for making the package available at that price.

I also saw that cost cutting isn't limited to us Maverick plebs. That base $56k Tremor comes with an 8" infotainment screen, plastic wheel, manual cloth seats, and just the basics of an F-150.

Pricing strategy is also in play there for another $6k or so you'll get the upgraded 11" screen, leather, heated bits, etc. All the way up to mid $70s with a Coyote V8.

I came away with two primary thoughts - the F-150 Tremors are so bad ass and if money was no object it'd be in my driveway yesterday.

Two - I feel really really good about the Tremor XLT w. lux under $35k.

I cant wait to feel good about my XLTremor at under $30k. I cant beleive I am getting a new special offroad model for $29,460 I cant get a 4 year old base Taco on island for that!

That is an incredible deal!

I find too much value in the XLT Lux package, then sprung for the moonroof, SIBL, engine block heater, remote start, rear sliding window - all in all about $3,600 in options, and I did not get my private because of my dealer/Ford (take a pick, I didn't get it).

I honestly was really compelled to look at the $56k Tremor but when I say it is work truck equipped, I mean it. They even put the shifter back on the column (vs the center console for better equipped versions). It has the same screen (although Sync 4) as the Maverick, cloth manual seats, no options above the XLT maverick really. I know it is better quality and has a 3.5EB, can tow 11k lbs, and is a full size truck - but I could never spend $56k for that spartan of a vehicle. For that price I would expect all of the options that I have on my Tremor and more - but I do applaud Ford for getting the Tremor to that price point - kind of like our Mavs!

I just wish the Mav Tremor could tow more. Even if Ford said - you can only tow 3,200-3,500 lbs because of suspension etc. The 2k limit is a knee cap on an otherwise outstanding package.

$30-35k for the Mav Tremor is a phenomenal deal. You can't buy a better "soft" roader for the price.

Every other vehicle I've had I've been able to overload it a bit and take it gentle with no problems. But the hybrid is a new animal and I'm going to be afraid to push it.
