This past weekend I saw a used Maverick at a CarMax lot. I ran over to look at it (the place was closed) but I took a look at the outside and snapped a picture of the window sticker. $43k for a XLT AWD with FX4. Had like 5k on the clock. I made an appt today to test drive it and I genuinely liked the car with a few caveats. I loved the power of it I was surprised how fast it was. The comfort wasn’t bad. It had the heated steering wheel and seats but standard HVAC controls. My top 3 things I didn’t like was 1- how loud the horn was inside the vehicle. It was almost like the car didn’t have any sound reading under the hood. 2- the radio screen Being tilted down ever so slightly seemed off to me. 3- the back seat is small but can’t expect much from it. I did fit behind myself (5’9”) but my legs were hitting the seat.

I would like to get into a lariat and compare. But overall not a bad small truck. You can clearly see the difference in the size inside to something midsize

I laughed when I saw your #1. Here in the PNW using your horn for almost anything is considered extremely rude. I don't think I have used mine once in 15 years. But others have noted there isn't a lot of sound deadening material between the engine bay and the cab.

Radio screen I didn't really notice when I took a test drive. Might be tilted to improve glare??

You have to test the horn. Hate when you get a nice car and the horn sounds like it came out of a 92 Geo Metro.
I’m driving a 2019 Equinox that was my wife’s we recently bought off lease. It’s a good car but I can’t see spending $43k+ for a mid level Maverick. If the world ever comes back to reality then I’ll look more into one but for now the Squeak-wa-nox will suffice.

Try the seats in a Ranger and Frontier to compare , you might be surprised.

I actually drove the frontier back in September and I really liked it. I actually thought I was getting one but the dealer was playing games once I got in with the finance guy.

Frontier is mid-size body-on-frame truck so not direct comparison. Also has horrible mileage. Most important question is though: did you test the horn?

Yes I tested the horn and I don’t remember having any negative feelings about it lol.
