This is really going to hurt the end buyer the most.
Why is that?

Flippers buy things to not use them, but to make money (which drives the price up and supply for everyone else down).

Sure there may be people who buy a vehicle then need to sell it due to life circumstances. But I would bet the bigger majority of people who sell in under a year in CURRENT market are just flipping.

I wasn't meaning the flipper I was meaning the last buyer. Some may know that there is no warranty and not care but most are going to be operating under past knowledge and experience that there is a warranty. Then all of a sudden no warranty.

It doesn't seem based on just reading through MTC for the last year or so that Ford has any interest in policing anything. Or perhaps just no personnel to dedicate to it. It's just a free-for-all, from best I can tell.

Was a big debate on this a while back. Won't hold up legally (IMO) there are laws against this.

The automakers are powerless against dealership "chains" that have hundreds of dealers. "Oh, you are going to threaten us? May I remind you that we sell 25% of all the Ford / Lincoln vehicles sold in the US? We'll do whatever the heck we want to do, thank you very much!"

I mean... making it less enticing for people to pick up the 2nd or 3rd car they ordered even though they don't intend to drive it would mean higher supply on lots, and in turn, lower the markups on new ones. In theory anyways.

Canada(maybe not every province) has a law prohibiting the sale of vehicles from dealers over their advertised price(MSRP).
If dealers here aren't going to sell for MRSP then Ford shouldn't be able to advertise that price.

Speculation almost always seems to lead to short term success and long term blow'd up real good failure.

Hello Carvana? FTX?

Amazing how the free market system seems to work itself out.
