I have an xlt, 4k Tow, fx4 Maverick.

This trailer is just under the 4k (3700lbs dry) and the 400lb tongue weight. It would be about 300 under the gcvwr. I know I would have to pack light and would need to camp with hook ups.

How do you think the Maverick would handle towing it?

GVWR is the weight you need to refer to this one is close about 4750. (I looked but already forgot 🤦‍♂️). I think the Maverick would handle it but you will be well over the manufacturer's max so all bets are off and you will be liable for any failures or accidents.

That gives you 700 pounds of headroom between the dry weight of the package and the gcwr. Take a hundred pounds for gasoline and truck fluids, 60 for propane, 240 for each trailer water tank you fill, and you don't have much left for passengers and cargo. I'd look for something lighter.

I think you are going to have to stick to 15-16 foot trailers to stay comfortably within weight limits.

I think it would probably pull fine, but the weight and the wind would handle your truck more than your truck handling it. Sweet trailer but gotta stick in the realm of compact with a compact truck.

I found a different one that is 3000lbs and 3800lbs fully weighed down that has a similar layout but without 4 season capability.

Probably a more realistic towing situation.

I would consider a smaller trailer like the R-Pod 180 or 190. I would suggest giving yourself a bit more margin than 300 lbs. Remember to consider the Mavericks GCWR also. This includes the weight of the trailer and contents, plus everything in the truck.

Here is the camper I’ll be buying for my Maverick FX4 4K tow.

Thanks for posting this link. I hadn’t seen these campers and have been very impressed with what I’ve found.

A little pricey, but what isn’t these days.

I'll have a hybrid so I'm traveling light. I won't spend a lot of time in a trailer so I'm looking for a teardrop. Nice and light, I can push it around by myself and easy to store.

I've done some research and plan on getting one of these, they seem within the limits and have some decent space and good build.

I was looking into a used Airstream Basecamp 16' camper. Of course, I don't have a Mav to pull it with yet, so it won't be happening anytime soon ;)

we bought a Jayco Jayflight SLX , just at 3100 lbs. We had a 2022 first edition Lariat AWD 2.0 and it tows great. Stopping is a bit different, I find I need a little more space between me and the car in front. We are also towing in flat Florida. We have about 2000 miles of towing so far. Next purchase is a sway bar, no weight distribution bars. One pic is Key West the other is Cocoa Beach.
