Still that is a extremely low hybrid count. And the fact they won’t schedule anymore hybrids after this month for the rest of MY is telling. Why would 23’s be any different.
Agreed Eco is the way to go …. I’m sorry hybrids take way too long and you limited what you can do . At this point I’ll buy hybrid car if really needed save on gas .

I think you're misreading that. They're up 3358% over last year... because the Santa Cruz had only just released.
So has the maverick … The Santa Cruz only sold 81 last year in July .. The maverick is actually newer . Even then it only 2,801 this July . Not exactly great.

Pray tell how the Maverick sold 20 units last year in July when consumer production didn't start until August 15th?

I meant the cruz only sold 81 last July sorry … overall point here the cruz sales are not good vs the maverick . Actually 2x less than the maverick .

I don't think Hyundai's anticipated production/sales numbers for the Santa Cruz were especially high in the first place. I've seen in the ballpark of 30,000 which it looks like they hit by the sales numbers. 10k last year, 20k YTD and MY23 should be starting soon or already.

Low production? Maverick production doubles that of some other models.
I agree. Honda had several years (2018-2020) where their entry level vehicle, the Fit, didn’t get over 36000 units for the entire year!

Idk what the deal is but it doesn’t look good on the surface . I love competion I’d hate maverick to be the only compact truck on the block .

I could've sworn I saw that it was supposed to be 4500 produced in July? Too lazy to fact check though, all I know is my production schedule went from August 8th to August 18th. I know I'm lucky to even be getting a 22, but damn it, I'm on vacation next week, and had my new truck in mind for vacation when I ordered it in October. Now we have to use my wife's Honda fit.
I think that was the original schedule, then it got changed to ~2700 due to the 2-week scheduled shutdown. 3578 actually beat their schedule and for only being running 2 1/2 weeks, that gets them close to their usual monthly average. I think this is old, but I have:
6000 for Aug and 4000 for Sep, but that was before the extension into Nov, so Sep is probably 6000, Oct 6000, and Nov 4000. That should give us another ~22,000 putting the total my22 builds over 100,000.

The Fit was fighting cancellation due to low sales that entire time.

The numbers are what they are. 3 years of consistent sales. What Honda decided to do as far as cancelling the vehicle doesn’t change the fact.
Either way, the Maverick will far exceed those numbers, and no one really considers the 3rd gen Honda Fit to be a rare vehicle; therefore, the 22 model year Maverick will not be either. (from a collectibility point of view, which is what was being questioned several comments earlier)

But I suppose the First Editions could rightly be labeled as “limited editions”, though I wouldn’t classify the entire 2022 model year of the Maverick as such.

I don’t see cruz lasting by 2025 let say . Unless they put hybrid AWD to compete … just don’t see it lasting much longer .
