Still no info on 2.0l though? I drive mostly highway so if it’s close to 30+ might opt for it.

It’s the same system as the bronco sport badlands. But since it’s a truck it will get SLIGHTLY worse mpg.
AWD 2.0 bronco sport gets 21/26/23
My guess for
2.0 AWD w/ max towing is 20/25/22
Ma
2.0 AWD w/o max towing is 19/26/23
2.0 FWD 19/27/23

Well at 26 highway I’ll still grab the hybrid then. 2k towing is more than enough for my small popup camper.

Off topic, but since the hybrid is being discussed, does anyone know what the warranty is going to be on the battery. I can't seem to find it anywhere.

8 years/100,000 miles (whichever comes first)
Depending on your vehicle, electric drivetrain system components covered by this warranty may include, and are not limited to:

• High-voltage battery
• High-voltage battery connector
• High-voltage battery isolation switch (manual disconnect switch)
• Battery pack fan assembly
• Battery pack sensor module HBPSM)
• Battery energy control module (BECM)
• On-board charger
• On-board charger fan assembly
• Inverter system controller (ISC), DC/DC converter
• Hybrid continuously
• Variable transmission
• Transmission range sensor
• Electronic drive module assembly (the electric motor and gearbox).

If an electric drivetrain system component requires replacement under warranty, it may be replaced with a new factory remanufactured, or factory refurbished component, at Ford’s discretion. Refurbished battery components selected for your vehicle will align with your vehicle’s age and mileage, and meet Ford’s stringent requirements and standards.
For important warranty details and exclusions, contact your dealer or see your Warranty Guide.

High Voltage Battery Gradual Capacity Loss
The high voltage battery will experience gradual capacity loss with time and use, similar to all batteries, which is considered normal wear and tear. Loss of battery capacity due to or resulting from gradual capacity loss is NOT covered under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty.

See your Owner’s Manual for important tips on how to maximize the life and capacity of the high voltage battery.

curious why the Mav hybrid highway mpg is considerably lower than other hybrids….Toyota RAV4 and Venda hybrids are 37 & 38 respectively……Mav is 33.
Worse drag coefficients.

Bad aerodynamics. As speed increases, being a brick has increasingly worse side effects.

I have only taken one long highway trip to and from Winstar Casino and Coppell TX.

Distance is about 62 miles each way.

Speed was either 73 or 78 MPH mostly on cruise control. Of the 124 miles about 16 was city driving.

Going to Winstar: MPG was 35 MPG, coming back from Winstar was 33 MPG, so the average was 34 MPG.

It was cold for the trip so I had the heater set to 74 degrees on automatic.

Overall I have had my Maverick XLT Hybrid for seven weeks and five days and over that time I have driven 635 miles while averaging 38.1 MPG. Or 1.1 MPG better than the combined 37 MPG EPA rating.

The MPG numbers were from the actual gas put into the Maverick and from the paper receipt at the pump.

Total miles driven = 634.90
Gallons: 16.68

634.90 / 16.68 = 38.06 MPG rounded up to 38.1 by the program I use for all costs record keeping.

I would think Aerodynamics & weight are the biggest factors.

RAV4 hybrid and Maverick hybrid weigh pretty much the same. Pickups just aren't aerodynamic. Also, the Maverick's front is pretty flat

Did 100 miles, got 33.x mpg doing about 85-90.
Did 60 miles, got 35.0 mpg doing about 45-60.

So yeah low 30s is about right.

I'm doing the same distance as you, real world numbers, in friged winter I am getting 8.5 l/100 combined, which I believe is shy of 30 mpg.
