Personally, I wanted AWD, that was a must have. I enjoy the power of the 2.0, MUCH quicker than I imagined. I am pleased with my choice.

My truck is fx4 awd without 4k tow package . bought off dealer had to take what I could get . had hitch for 2k towing but fx4 has heavier suspension and cooling system than a regular ecoboost . it works for me . if towing something north of 2k definitely get 4k tow package . get awd to launch and pull boat out of waterDo you guys have the 4k tow as well or just the fx4 package? I’d like to pull a small pontoon from time to time. No need for pulling a camper as I have a super C that will tow the mav
Def will be getting both, I was just curious what packages you had with that mileage. I haven’t even considered the hybrid as my intended use exceeds its limits. Coming from a 15 f150 5.0 is a huge change in a welcomed way for me. I still need to do truck stuff. Just not full-size truck stuff if possible. My truck is fx4 awd without 4k tow package . bought off dealer had to take what I could get . had hitch for 2k towing but fx4 has heavier suspension and cooling system than a regular ecoboost . it works for me . if towing something north of 2k definitely get 4k tow package . get awd to launch and pull boat out of water
Fx4 without 4k tow package has a slightly higher rear end rating . 4k towing might lose 1 mpg . it all depends how you drive it . I get 23 to 24 mpg city easy driving and 22 mpg spirited driving . no towing yet so no opinion . kicking in turbo definitely increases gas usage . only using 87 regular .Def will be getting both, I was just curious what packages you had with that mileage. I am averaging 48mpg with my hybrid and some days I can get the mileage up to 65 mpg if I drive all city miles. My highest so far was 67.5 mpgSo I keep going back and forth between the hybrid and Ecoboost.
I drive 70 miles a day so I would definitely benefit from the hybrid, but it seems that as more Ecoboosts get into owners hands the reported mileage isn't too bad on those either.
I know FWD with good tires works just fine in the snow, and we really don't get much snow to cause too many problems, but AWD would be nice just in case.
I also don't really need the 4k tow at this time, but again nice to have just in case.
That's my personal take as well. Unless you regularly tow more than 2k pounds or frequently go off-road (more than just dirt roads to get to a campsite), the hybrid will suit 99% of the needs of most drivers and is the better choice.
I wouldn't pay 6K more for an occasional AWD when not needed 99% of the time. I did that with my Tacoma 4X4 -- in 6 years I used it once. Then I just tested.. turned it off and it went through the snow just fine - That completely changed my mind. I thought i would go on weekend trail trips - never did. I was too afraid to damage my truck or scratch it. That finally changed my mind. I don't need to pay for what I won't use. If the difference were 2K yea I'd pay for that. If the truck had a taller stance and looked more aggressive - yep I'd pay for that too to a pointSo I keep going back and forth between the hybrid and Ecoboost.

Like most things, it comes down to budget/needs/wants specifically to you. Opinions & experiences of others are always fun to read about, but have zero impact to your situation. So I keep going back and forth between the hybrid and Ecoboost.

+1. This thing is pretty damn fun in corners considering it's better planted compared to a "real" truck given it's unibody and the stiff suspension.A touch over 18K on my 2.0 AWD with zero problems, great ride with the 4-wheel independent suspension, hand calculated averaging 29mpg, this is fine for me.
Watch your AWD monitor for those that have AWD, you will learn more about how the system works in one or two drives than anyone @ Ford can tell you......not just a snow or loose surface system.
The AWD also gets you a much better tracking vehicle in addition, mine is very stable and well stuck whether braking or accelerating in a turn. Some may think this is not important, this is not a track vehicle etc., If you have ever had to take evasive action at freeway speed to avoid a collision, that is where the better suspension pays off. My truck is stable and predictable in handling.
Get the truck YOU need and want, not the one someone else says you need.
