Door Sill Protection

I searched Amazon for door sill protection and what I mostly saw was a tape application. I ordered it, but the install went badly. I didn't like the look and in removing it, it took off some of the paint. OUCH! Any recommendations? I wouldn't mind something like a hard plastic that tapes down but I didn't see anything like that to fit the Mav. I did visit the Ford Accessory website and saw the stainless steel ones for $99 or $129 for the black ones. Nice, but surely someone else has similar without the corporate price. I also don't really need MAVERICK stamped into the plate. So, in my despair, I'm turning to the MTC people to help out.

Update: I decided to get the factory Ford protectors. Can't beat stainless steel protection and I can use reward points for purchase. Many thanks to everyone for helping me make a good decision. I'm of the opinion that 90% of people are fine with helping others and this club certainly proved that.

All kidding aside, the painted sills can get a beating from boots and shoe bottoms. Already had a couple of chips off the paint.

Good to know. Would definitely influence whether or not to buy. I appreciate the durability of stainless steel, but the $130.00 price tag was a bit steep for their purpose. The added information you provided about their size put a final nail in that coffin.
